Great city if you have a car and can move to different spots. Great for work travel, convention, etc. Not a very turistic city but there are lot of different places to visit around the city. Try Joaquim Egydio, beautiful smal historic city.

I stayed in Campinas for 2.5 weeks.
I stayed in Campinas for 2.5 weeks. The first 2 we were in Cambui which is a lovely area in Campinas. It is safe and has lots of restaurants, bars and coffee shops. The last few days we stayed in Barao Geraldo which is the area around Unicamp. This too is a nice area with shops, restaurants and bars. We rented a car which made it easy to get around. People in Campinas are very friendly. Most people do not speak English but they will bend over backwards to help you out.
The property is old and needs renovation. My shower cabin leaked and wet the whole bathroom. Also, the paint on the walls is old and dirty in some parts. The breakfast was very simple without many options. It was very tasty, though. The staff was nice but not very efficient. This hotel is great if you are just passing by Campinas and need to be nearby the freeway. However, the neighborhood itself is a little sketchy, especially during the nighttime.
the review on Booking.com did not make clear how incredibly basic this hotel is. It is a pod hotel (also not clear from the review) and the pods are tiny. luckily I was travelling on my own because if my wife had been with me, she would have freaked.
Hotel is clean but room is REALLY SMALL. I am only 6 foot tall but the bed is wedged between front and back walls in the pod and my head was touching one side and my feet the other.
We slept really well, nice beds, pool area and gym were great. The location is excellent, best neighbourhood in the city of Campinas with best cafes and restaurants nearby. Go to Las Guapas empanadas and Borelli ice cream nearby. Nebline Coffee Shop and Cafe Container. The most amazing Thai restaurant called Lagundri is a 5 min walk. We had a great time at this hotel and felt safe and well distanced.

The staff is not friendly, I had a unique situation that I would not be able to eat breakfast which as included because I work early before the breakfast was open.
I kindly asked a staff member if I could take at least a fruit to take to go, they have refused saying that it was my problem and hotel policy does not allows.
The hotel location is really good with easy access. The parking is just average, with part of the parking not completely covered. The checkin process was fast and direct to the point. The fact that there was a fridge with water and some other food for sale on the front desk is good and makes it simpler for the guests.
Awesome breakfast, awesome staff Raphael Front desk should be promoted, he is really sharp and very hospitable.

The place was above my expectations. I was concerned because the area isn't the best and the hotel looks a little old. But the room was spacious and clean, the bathroom has been remodeled and the breakfast is nice. The staff is very friendly
