The maritime procession in Angra dos Reis on 1 January is a great way to see in the new year, as thousands of boats parade along the water. Carnival celebrations may still be occurring in major cities if Ash Wednesday falls in March, so be prepared for extra crowds if this is the case. The annual Brazilian Beer Festival takes place in Blumenau every March over four days, with homegrown and international breweries offering you the chance to try over 140 styles of beer. As temperatures and crowd numbers begin to drop, April can be a very pleasant month to visit many parts of Brazil. The Pantanal enters its dry season towards the end of the month and Holy Week brings a host of religious celebrations, as well as a chance to try some homemade chocolate eggs. Heavy rain tends to continue in most regions and temperatures average between 18–31ºC.
While Holy Week festivities take place across the country, the celebrations in Ouro Preto in Minas Gerais are some of the most notable, as the city covers itself in flowers and colourful carpets laid on the streets. Other popular Holy Week events are found in Cidade de Goiás, Congonhas and São João del Rei. Lollapalooza Brasil usually takes place on the first weekend of April in São Paulo and gives you the chance to catch the biggest names in rock, hip-hop and electronic music over three days.

Things quieten down in May and temperatures are noticeably cooler, especially in the south which falls as low as 14ºC on some days. This period between the rainy season (February to April) and the hot, dry season (September to November) is a good time to explore the Amazon, when you have the best opportunities for boat trips and hiking in pleasant weather.
The celebrations of Carnival and Holy Week may have passed, but there’s still plenty of events taking place in Brazil. São Paulo plays host to Virada Cultural Paulistana – the biggest 24-hour festival in the world. Not only is it free to attend but you’ll be able to attend various events around the city such as live music performances and films. The coastal town of Torres is also worth venturing to for its annual International Ballooning Festival. As well as lots of hot-air enthusiasts, it’s also home to concerts, films and extreme sports like skydiving.

São Paulo Gay Pride Parade takes place every June on the Sunday after the Corpus Christi public holiday and is the biggest of its kind in the world. Celebrate LGBT pride with millions of people in a parade of parties, cultural fairs and other activities aimed at celebrating diversity. In Rio, the best runners in the world take part in what is considered one of the most scenic marathons in the world, passing by mountainsides and seafronts. Other key events include the Festival Folclórico do Amazonas in Manaus which features a variety of regional folklore performances, as well as Festa de São João – a month-long party showcasing traditional music and dancing.

July is Brazil’s coldest month, so no matter which part of the country you visit it’s best to bring a warm coat for the evening. Average temperatures fall between 28–12ºC, still warm enough to enjoy the beaches of Rio in the southeast, the tropical wetlands of the Pantanal and the Amazon rainforest. School holidays last for practically the entire month so expect most attractions to be busier than usual.
Despite the cooler weather, Brazil keeps the spirit of summer alive with a variety of fun events, such as the Campos do Jordão Winter Festival which features a whole month of live performances. Oktoberfest comes to many of Brazil’s cities in a big way, particularly in Blumenau where a big parade leads into over two weeks of beer drinking and folk music – the second-biggest celebration after the original Munich festival. Christmas holidays and warm weather mean December is a busy month in Brazil. Average temperatures tend to be between 19–35ºC but the return of the wet season sees rainfall across much of the country.
The first week of December sees the largest off-season carnival held in Natal. Known as Carnatal, it brings together crowds who dance through streets alongside trucks equipped with giant sound systems, known as trios elétricos. Comic Con Experience arrives in São Paulo for three days in December, full of exhibitions and artists related to the biggest comics, TV series, films and video games. As Christmas nears, cities are decorated in beautiful lights, but few more so than Gramado during its Natal Luz festival. You’ll also be able to enjoy a lakeside concert full of entertainers and dazzling special effects. To see in the new year in style, join millions of white-clad partygoers on Copacabana Beach in Rio on 31 December for an incredible fireworks display and lots of live music.

Pouso Alegre is a bit bigger than the average countryside city. It has markets to purchase some local items and a few touristic places (not the strongest point of the city, though) Nearby cities also have more natural life, like Congonhal with its waterfalls.
Great city to visit, so many things to see and visit. City was very safe with a heavy police present. I would defiantly recommend checking Rio !!

I spent one night in the area as I had only came through to see the falls. I wish I had dome more research on other things in the area because I found it boring (and I'm sure there must be more to it than I saw).

Boipeba is amazing. Great food, great people, great experiences. My favorite place is Morere and Cueira. Seeing the sky by night was incredible. My favorite food was moqueca de camarão at Ority Praia Bar.

Iguazu Falls - definitely worth visiting, but check tickets before you go as you might end up in a very long queue. Hotels offer to buy (not too big $$ difference). Birds park worth visiting as well as popping in to Argentina.

Campo Grande is a very good place to stay, a lot of amenities
Having everything from nature, beach and ocean to a vivid nightlife - you will find what you want there. With plenty of bars and restaurants you can really enjoy your holiday at this beautiful place.
Paraty is a little bit of heaven. I love the water, the beaches, the islands and the jungle. Hire a boat and explore! Every night the city is a block party with tables in the street and music spilling out of restaurants. Don't miss the historical museum.

Natal is a wonderful place to visit when you have children or teenagers as it is full of activities for them and you. Great restaurants and so many places to visit nearby, packed with lakes, sand ski, zipwire, dunes and buggy, tricycle and lots of adventure to have!
São Paulo is a city for everyone. Check if you have good internet service in the apartment and great coworking places or coffee shops to work. Pinheiros is my favourite neighborhood for short stays.
Dinner at hotel is good. You need a taxi to get around. Airport transfers excellent.
Although small Monte Verde is a very clean and beautiful village surrounded by beautiful green mountains. There are nice trails to walk, great restaurants to eat and even SPAs to have relaxing massage.

The place is scenically beautiful. People are friendly and helpful. Uber can be used for transportation and it is reasonable too. English is not understood and spoken much, so language is a little challenging. Also, vegetarian and vegan food is less popular. Stay careful while using your phone on the road, the rest of the thing is great about the place.

Paraty is a very special place on earth. A combination of lush nature at sea and on ground with vibrant history, architecture, decor, art and cuisine. Especially pleasant out of high season. Local people are helpful and nice. Again, especially out of season.

Paraty can be magical, there's something about this place we can't explain. If you can avoid holiday crown, you can enjoy this historic place even better. Enjoy the great restaurants. Take a bout trip to all those beautiful islands around. Go to Trindade and enjoy the beaches. Do the hiking to praia do Sono. Drink a caipirinha Jorge Amado, and don't forget to buy one cachaça Gabriela.

Aparecida is a pilgrimage place, so it's worth visiting.
Brasilia is a very nice city, well organized, with nice restaurants and good places to visit. It is the epicenter of the Brazilian politics, so you have very important buildings you may visit. Culturally, the city is also very interesting, with museums, churches and libraries.
Cidade linda, cheia de possibilidades. Merece uma segunda e terceira visitas. Muita comida boa para todos os gostos e bolsos. Passeios em praias próximas como Trindade são excepcionais. Para quem tem alguma restrição em caminhar, as ruas do centro histórico são calçadas de pedras irregulares e apresentam certa dificuldade.

I loved the sea and the bungalow and premises of the hotel. We have our meals at the hotel and at a couple Of restaurantes. We enjoyed the pool, the sea and the sorroundings close to Camocin. Also visited a lagoon nearby and dunes.
We visited a very interesting park, the Mangal das Garças. Terrific place, big enough to spend the whole day there. A huge and very interesting zoobotanical garden, just in the city. Another interesting place to go is de Estação das Docas, where you can enjoy delicious regional food dishes, ice-cream made of regional fruits of the Amazon rainforest, live music at a stage in the air that moves from one point to the other of the falicity.

Rio, as they say, is the city of the gods, and this epithet fits it perfectly. An amazing atmosphere reigns here day and night, small jazz bands are winning by the beach. So the rush of tourists on fancy beaches doesn't matter either. Restaurants offer a variety of dishes, fish and seafood are excellent. You can also find quieter hotels outside the main tourist spots and attractions.
Rio is a beautiful place with sandy white beaches, historic buildings, green mountains and so much more. There is so much you can do. I would recommend visiting it for 4 days at the minimum.
So much to see and do in this city. Museums, art galleries, places to eat and drink, architecture, you name it, Sao Paulo has it. Vibrant, lively city bursting with life. Take care though. The crime rate is high especially crimes relating to thefts of foreigners, particularly white western types. Sorry but it's true. Look after your stuff and yourself. If in doubt ask if an area is safe, especially at night. Excellent Metro system.
Rio is Rio. All you have head about it is true, just multiply your knowledge by 2,3 or more.. If you live not far from Copacabana or Ipanema, take care of your phone.. I almost lost mine! Do not go in favelas alone!
Very big city with all types of attractions. Art museum and so on. But Villa Madalena is great for the very unusual atmosphere of graffiti with a lot of cafes and gist shops. Recomend.
Small but nice city with the beautiful old town. From here you can go to Park National Lencois Marananhenses (Sao Amaro village) and there you can find the unique place at this planet! Just google it...

Everything was perfect! English is my only language and I was always able to find someone to help me. The concierges were awesome especially Pedro, Eibe, Michele and Laura. Every meal was very good with lots of options. Entertainment was great. Pool area was beautiful and well maintained.
A bit of a drive to get to but an interesting little town with an attractive historic district. Felt safe walking around and plenty of food options all around. Though restaurants were a bit pricier than I felt they should have been, likely knowing they're dealing with tourist primarily.

Rio has plenty to do and see and is a very relaxed place. The prices of almost everything are cheap (coming from the UK anyway) except wine which is unbelievably expensive even in the supermarkets. The people are friendly and it feels very safe at all times.
Arraial do Cabo is a truly paradise! The color of the waters are just breath taking! Every beach has it's own treasure and I recommend you to visit them all! There are boat tours that take you to the best places in 1 day, if you're planning to be there just for a few days :)

Urubici is a great place to explore the mountain region. Many things to do! We liked to explore the different view points and waterfalls. Everything is easy to find and well indicated. It is also super safe.
Sou Carioca e o Rio de Janeiro é uma Cidade Maravilhosa. Contudo, possui suas dificuldades e como qualquer outra Cidade turística, é preciso ficar atento. Mas o Rio é grande e possui diversos "Rios" em um só e cada turista, precisa encontrar o "seu Rio preferido". O povo do Rio é hospitaleiro, amigável. alegre e extremamente receptivo.
