Sun-drenched and laidback, Perth is simply a joy to be in. However, the West Australian capital does have tourist attractions, such as the Colonial-era mint, important in the country’s gold industry. East is the WACA, a must-see for cricket fans, and the city is also mad for Aussie Rules football.
The city centre has the historic Government House and Supreme Court, both dwarfed by the ultra-modern skyscrapers a few streets behind. The best skyline view is from leafy King’s Park, near the War Memorial overlooking the Swan River below, named after its black swans. Across the river in Perth Zoo are more native animals including koalas, crocodiles and free-hopping kangaroos.
Boats to the zoo leave from the Barrack Street jetty by a sail-shaped bell tower. Other day trips from Perth include Rottnest Island and Fremantle, down the river in the opposite direction from Perth Airport.
The apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Perth are spread all over this fantastic city, interspersed with restaurants serving specialities such as western rock lobster and chilli mussels. There is also a wealth of bars, many playing the indie music that the city is known for. Local brews from the Swan Brewery and wines from the Swan Valley vineyards round off the evening.

Perth city and the historical buildings, close to Kings Park and the Swan River are unbeatable. The train system is excellent and you can reach Cottesloe and Fremantle easily. Perth offers fabulous cafés and restaurants and is an oasis of peace in this busy age. It is never too much trouble for friendly locals to chat or give advice.

I loved the train from the airport and being in the city centre it was easy walking around. I walked over the pedestrian bridge on the freeway and it took me up Mounts street and to Kings Park and caught the free city bus back. There was other attractions to see but I had come to go to a festival.

Perth is a beautiful city but avoid TAXI service and the Airport is dreadful and confusing, so make sure you understand the correct terminal as the two awful airlines are a 15 minute drive away from each other. Avoid the TAXI service. Catch Airport train for $5.10 or UBER. DO NOT CATCH A TAXI
I recently stayed at the QT Hotel in Perth, and it was an exceptional experience. The stylish and modern design created a luxurious ambience, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The rooms were spacious, immaculate, and featured stunning views of the city. The rooftop bar was a highlight, offering delicious cocktails and a vibrant atmosphere. The central location made it easy to explore Perth's attractions. Overall, the QT Hotel exceeded my expectations and provided a memorable stay. Highly recommended!
We have stayed at this hotel several times which sums up our opinion of it. It is very convenient for Perth Airport.
The rooms are standard chain hotel style but are comfortable, clean and quiet.
We had a pleasant dinner in the restaurant in the evening and good coffee in the cafe, mid-morning. However it seems the breakfast staff are making an extra effort with dishes such as homemade baked beans showing that they are trying to make it a bit special.
Location is super great for my stay in Alex hotel. It was a pleasant surprise to how near (within walking distance) to popular shopping and dining in Perth City in the Central business district. For most of other attractions in Perth City, Uber services are easily accessible too. WA Perth Museum is just right beside the hotel, another hidden gem. Decor of the hotel is modern is boutique vibe. Hot showers is working great too!
Nice clean well maintained appartments with evertthing you need for the price that you pay you willnot get anything excopt a bar fridge and maybe a microwave in other dearer hotels here you get a full furmished apartment and its cheaperalso the new owners have been putting in alot of work into it so its our main place to stay when going to perth for more than overnight.
Staff at reception were very warm and friendly. Our room wasn't quite ready as we arrived half an hour before check in. The receptionist invited us to have a complimentary coffee at Spring Kitchen which was great.
The parking at $15 was very cheap compared to many hotels around Perth. The Wilson Car Park was on Rowe St, which was very quiet and easily accessible.
it’s not a hotel but a small number of en suite room / apartments in a lovely building in central Perth. The room is big enough with good facilities and some thoughtful and practical touches that were very appreciated. I was also able to leave my case while I explored Perth after I’d checked out.
Neat studio and good for what I needed it for. Parking was always a challenge in the CBD. Wifi was a tad slow and unsecured but its free so can't really complain but with recent cybersecurity issues, would like to see more hotels start having secured wifi networks as standard practice.
The apartments were clean and well stocked. The staff was super helpful and knowledgeable. The airport shuttle worked great for getting to and from the airport, and there was plenty of parking so we could pick up a rental RV and bring it to the property with no problems.
Everything you could need from a hotel, very clean, cozy room, super comfortable bed, great location, very nice lady at the reception, who is very helpful by the way. I highly recommend it if you are staying in Perth and need a good hotel in a convenient location
The room was well appointed, very clean and in excellent condition. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location was a 2minute walk to the main CBD of Perth and 5 minutes to railway station. There were buses that pulled up outside the Hotel.
I got a free upgrade to stay in a room in Quest (West End) apartments hotel. The hotel was bigger in size and located in the city center. So going to work or shopping was very easy. The amenities were good and satisfactory.
We liked the location. We could reach the center of Perth by feet in just 10 minutes. Or take the free CAT bus to get around. The stop is just in front of the hotel.
We had a big room with wide and comfortable beds.
Don’t let the location of the hotel put you off. Yes it’s about 15 to 20 min walk to centre of Perth but there are buses and free Cat bus local. If airline crew can stay there then it’s good enough for me
Conveniently positioned close to Perth CBD. As we were staying a week we wanted space to live and the self contained apartment gave us the space with the convenience of a washing machine.
The location is amazing! I love being able to have a self contained 2 bedroom apartment WITH washer and dryer!!! And all for less than the average cost of a standard hotel room in Perth.
My daughter was so happy to stayed vacation at QT Perth to celebrate her wedding 1 anniversary, They was surprised they got a free bottle of wine. So nice of hotel QT Perth Thank you!
