The property was well striated with river views which afforded the most brilliant moon vistas. Comfortable, well-appointed with everything we needed. The beds were really cosy, warm with good mattresses.
A short walk took us up to the dining area for a superb breakfast via the friendly house dog with whom I had some good play. He was quite lovely!

How spacious it is. Great location and beautiful view of the water.
Penneshaw was great. Quiet and close to ferry and food options. When you get off the ferry you think there is not much here but look around the side streets and you find many options. It is only half an hour to Kingscote and to the main tourist loop. We had kangaroos at our door each morning and the view of the water and ferry going up and down was lovely.

Penneshaw has a beautiful safe beach, skate park and playground plus hikes for the more adventurous. There is a small supermarket for anything you may need to be self sufficient. Otherwise there are 2 hotels and 2 cafes, all providing eat-in or take-away food as well as a take-away food shop. We were there in January.

The ocean views from the apartment were amazing.
The ocean views from the apartment were amazing. The apartment was well equipped and had everything we needed. It was not far from the ferry terminal. The IGA supermarket is walking distance from the apartments and also was easy to get around the island in our car for gin tasting, wine tasting and a visit to the honey farm.

It was close to the ferry and great local food. Great home base to get to all the sights. The little penguin night tour is excellent. People were wonderful and friendly. Great beach to walk along and swim in close to accomodation. Millpond where we stayed was excellent 5 star property for us we would stay there again and recommend it. Great views from the Millpond. We stayed for 8 nights.

It is a goodvidea to do your research beforehand and plan your trip. We wanted an overall look at the island itself and to eat out occasionally. We achieved our goal in five days some long and some short and with built in rests. Other people may want to participate in activities and there seem to be plenty of options. Although it is an island highlights are spaced so be prepared fir lots of driving whatever your choices. And look out for the native animals

We have had a great time here and seen a lot of kangaroos and wallabies around the house. The view is breathtaking and the sound of the birds in the morning is mesmerising. The night sky is awesome, but it was cloudy for most days.
The place was perfect. Very easy to enter with the key and code. The driveway was a little scary as it was quite steep but still easily managed. The location including the birds, wallabies and kangaroo made spectacular views. It's proximity to Penneshaw, the ferry and a good beach was superb. The supplies were more than we expected. Fabulous place to stay. We would thoroughly recommend Ashenden's to anyone wishing to stay on Kangaroo Island.
A perfect house for a family get away. The kitchen is well equipped for short and long stays. Millpond is walking distance to some sites like the Penneshaw Sculpture Trail and the Contemplation Seat just to name a few. Millpond is approximately 2hr drive to Flinders Chase National park, about 1hr to Little Sahara Adventrure Centre and about 30mins to Cape Willoughby Lighthouse. Its a great location to be based on Kangroo Island.
Beautiful property with plenty of space and all the conveniences. Elli is a wonderful host and was super accommodating when we messed up our check-in time and then requested an extension due to ferry cancellations! Gorgeous views, comfy bedding and close to Penneshaw shops and cafes. Loved it here!
Very comfortable and enjoyable stay at the property. nice and quiet but still close to Penneshaw. The rooms were very clean and nice to sleep in. Perfect families.

Eddie and Rhonda were fabulous hosts! A gorgeous Holiday Home with ample amenities. I left my jumper behind and Eddie went above and beyond to help me get it back. Location so close to the ferry and beautiful view of the beach. I would definitely stay here again!
Everything from the location, the most ocean view, accessibility to Penneshaw ferry, beach & shops home is fully equipped, a perfect home away from home, modern, cozy, super comfortable & tastefully decorated. Eddie & Rhonda super host & excellent communicator.
The rooms are extremely tiny. Bunk beds. No place to sit in the room. Open the door and lie down in bed, that’s all you can do. Washrooms are dirty. Heater in my room was not working. We somehow manage one night and moved to another hotel next morning.
The location was great very near the ferry. There are many restaurants and cafes near the hotel. Breakfast was delicious. The egg benny was great. Staff was very helpful. I need a adeptor for my notebook computer, they found one for me!
Beautifully appointed house, felt homey , fabulous views . It was very clear the hosts really cared for their home. Loved the fairy wrens that were hopping about the garden. Everything you need and would want in a holiday house.
