We have just finished our trip around Tasmania. Lenna of Hobart was our favourite accommodation. Our room was comfortable with a lovely view of the gardens, and we loved the heated floor tiles in the bathroom. Drinks in the lounge bar at happy hour was a great treat. Lenna is in walking distance to Salamanca and many the bars and restaurants. Lenna offers free parking which is difficult to get so close to Salamanca.

Historic Hobart, with its convict past, was often referred to as Australia’s neglected backwater. How times have changed as its temperate climate, quiet lifestyle and fabulous food and markets make it a revitalising tourist destination along the Derwent River in Tasmania.
The city’s significant maritime history begins at Constitution Dock, situated along the waterfront and facing the beautiful harbour. Nearby Battery Point and affluent Sandy Bay feature Georgian and Victorian architecture and the first settler’s cottages in Australia’s 2nd oldest city.
Escape to a memorable view of Hobart town from the snow-covered Mount Wellington or get close up and personal in the city’s quaint streets. Hobart comes alive during the colourful Salamanca Market, held every Saturday morning, where you can bag a bargain or sample mouth-watering produce such as local wines and cheeses.
Cascade Brewery and Cadbury’s Chocolates have tours of these Tasmanian icons or visit Wrest Point Casino, a popular event and entertainment centre.
The annual Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race in December and Tulip Festival in the Royal Botanical Gardens swells the population in this small capital city. Make sure you check Booking.com ahead of time for your colonial cottage, cosy B&B or waterfront apartment.
I live in northern Tasmania. Hobart is our modestly sized capital city in the south. It is a city that is easy to navigate with absolutely MAJOR historically important Australian cultural sites within a couple of hours' reach. Most people do not realise that Hobart is Australia's SECOND settlement after Sydney, older than Melbourne. Food is amazing. Culturally exciting. In most ways Hobart punches well above its weight.

Just an amazing city with strong character and personality.
Just an amazing city with strong character and personality. We were able to explore the Salamanca Market which takes place every Saturday and we would highly recommend prospective travellers to build their trip around Saturday for this experience. The city as a whole had so many amazing cafes, bars, whisky tasting experiences and food everywhere you turned.

Authentic historical small city nestled between mountains...
Authentic historical small city nestled between mountains and the sea on a working river port. Culture at every turn and very environmentally aware and active. Access to stunning landscapes and wildlife. Unique.
The room was large and comfy with a view over Princes Park. The bathroom was large including a spa bath and separate shower. All amenities were well placed and functional for a self contained apartment. I really enjoyed the fact that each apartment had it's own split system air con and and opening sliding door for fresh air. The location was excellent being within walking distance to the CBD, Salamanca Markets, Battery Point wharfs and beyond. The staff were lovely and always ready to assist or recommend places to go.
the property is exceptional, with features available in most 5 star hotels but without the the price. staff were amazing, beds showers fantastic, Timms and architecture of the hotel are world class. on our last night we had just returned from a huge hike. the wonderful staff gave us bath salts and a bar of local chocolate without us asking. we finished the nice with delicious fresh food, great wines and jazz in the downstairs bar. a must stay when in Hobart.
The apartment was beautifully presented, had all the amenities we needed and the extra towels were great. It was warm and comfortable in the middle of winter. Fitted a family of 4 very easily. It was a relaxing 'home' to come back to after a day out with everyone having their own space to retreat to. Located within easy walking distance to Hobart CBD and waterfront. Our family would happily stay here again.
The location in the centre or Hobart CBD was excellent. Easy walking distance to waterfront. The hotel facilities were safe & secure, quiet, modern and clean. The standard rooms are an excellent size and the decor modern with free Wi-Fi.
