The National Hotel has such beautiful new rooms respecting the heritage of this historic hotel. Very comfy and private with all the features you would expect at a top-class hotel. For the price we paid this surprised us.
It was so close to everything we wanted to see that we just walked. We should have taken our hire car back earlier as we didn't need it.
We enjoyed the live music and had the restaurant food down in the pub on the Monday night. Room service was well done too.

Unfortunately we were there on Monday to Wednesday when the town is very quiet and the famous market closed-only open on weekend. Also the art gallery was closed as they were preparing for another exhibition-would have been nice to have been forwarned to avoid going there.

Fremantle is a very walkable place.
Fremantle is a very walkable place. It's mostly flat and most things are within a 1 -2 km walk. We did not have a car and did not miss it. High Street is the place for cafes and shops. Bathers beach is great for restaurants and sunsets.
The pace in Fremantle is slow, which suited us. We had a wonderful 4 days here and would recommend Fremantle to anyone wanting to experience the friendliness of Western Australia and enjoy that small town feel.
Fremantle Markets is also brilliant.

Fremantle has a warm, nostalgic place in my heart but over the years it has become decidedly tatty. Yes, it has history to offer but the general atmosphere in the town is one of cafés, eateries and non-descript shops offering uninteresting souveniers.
The Fremantle town council is badly in need of a strategy to create a town that serves the broader community beyond a place to drink coffee any time in the week

Lots of cafes and restaurants, food was great.
Lots of cafes and restaurants, food was great. Markets were amazing and worth visiting. The beach was small in Fremantle but very clean. There is a great atmosphere and it is very safe to walk around with good transport links to Perth.
The location is great, as you can walk to all the Fremantle attractions but it's a bit more quiet, so no worries sleeping. The home is very cute and fun to stay in. The host was great, as we were able to check in a little early (we asked nicely), and they were very responsive to a question we had by SMS. The other people living in the small complex were also friendly.
Nothing really wrong with the place, your typical b&b, charming, great location close to town and ferry terminal. Friendly service from the staff. The price however is out of range for the value, 2x than a business hotel and comparable to a 5 stars hotel in Perth, but with basic B&B facilities and services.
Booked about 2 months ago, for just a night stay, when we arrived at airport, we drove str to Fremantle. Reached hotel about 8pm. Clean room. We were 3 adults but only 1 Toothbrush, otherwise everything was good. Cheerful and helpful staff, esp in directing us to find the basement parking.
ideal location in the centre of Fremantle. Clean rooms with excellent facilities. Balcony overlooking street where a lot is happening. Rooftop bar is a must. local parking available through hotel. excellent restaurants nearby. Really helpful reception team.
A great location just across from some of the best bars and restaurants in Fremantle. The hotel is extremely spacious, has a very good bar and serves a decent, if limited, menu. The room was comfortable and well appointed and the wifi was very good.
very friendly staff and cool atmosphere of the hotel - you can well imagine how the wardens have lived in this place many years ago. free minibar and very nice rooms. great location in Fremantle close to city center, markets and the ferry quay.
Beautiful quiet neighbour hood! Nice view from hotel balcony. We walked to great restaurants in the town. Must check out duck duck Bruce for breakfast and Fremantle Prison was worth a visit too. The hotel was very spacious and clean!
Great location, friendly staff and a very modern hotel. We were able to walk to all the great sights of Fremantle as the hotel is in a prime location. The staff were super friendly and helpful which made our stay all the more special.
Great place to stay with all the comforts of home. Easy walk to loads of places to eat and things to do within Fremantle. Owner goes above and beyond to provide information to make your stay as easy and enjoyable as possible.
It is a little art gellary and we really enjoyed our one day stay there touch the feel of the old fremantle. everywhere is a photo spot. definately recommended anyone who is going to fremantle to exprience this little hotel.
The Quest is a great upscale Hotel in downtown Freemantle. This property is close to everything. Staff was great and accommodated us and our big mess of luggage after a road trip around Western Australia.
Well appointed 3 bedroom apartment with 2 full bathrooms and a separate toilet; quiet location. 10 min walk to the heart of Fremantle. 5 min walk to Perth Markets. Friendly staff; able to store luggage.
The room was very clean. The hotel was very close to restaurants, bars and markets in Fremantle. Some basic items in the kitchen to eat basic food - kettle, bowls, microwave but no toaster.
Perfect for our weekend getaway to Fremantle. Loved the apartment, great location and had everything we needed. We have stayed before and will be back :)
