Cairns was the highlight of our 10-day trip to Australia.
Cairns was the highlight of our 10-day trip to Australia. We loved the beautiful natural beauty it offers and the convenience as a base point to snorkel at the Great Barrier Reef, ride the gondola to Kuranda Village and hike Daintree Rainforest. Mossman Gorge and the gondola stop within the Daintree Rainforest is jaw-dropping when you see the trees, plants and fauna.
Park rangers, hotel staff, and even shuttle bus drivers were very friendly and accommodating, especially the people at Visions Apartment on the esplanade. There were lots of restaurants and shopping around the esplanade. Lots of activities for multi-generational group of ours.
We rented a car last minute from a local family-run rental, who brought the car to our hotel. Very friendly and convenient! We were a bit nervous driving on the left side of the road, but turned out to be an easy drive to Mossman Gorge and Port Douglas. We hiked the well-marked trails and learned about the local Aborigines culture in Mossman then stopped in Port Douglas to see wild cockatoos, fox bats and had great ice cream in the small town. We loved everything about Cairns and even though there were rain storms during our trip in May, it was a nature-lovers dream!

Cairns is a fantastic little city that is a gateway to some of Australia's beautiful natural sights. There are many tours on offer from Cairns to see the Daintree Rainforest or the Great Barrier Reef. The nightlife is good and there are plenty of restaurants and bars to refuel after big days of activities.

Cairns is both a hub of activity and a gateway to adventures within a few hours of travel.
It has an ambient climate with all the services and culture you’d expect of a much bigger city. There is so much to do in cairns and the public transport system is both convenient and well run.
There are so many adventures to be had on the Great Barrier Reef, Green Island and Fitzroy Island. Mission Beach, The Atherton Tablelands and The Daintree are all a day trip from Cairns.

Experience where the Locals shop and goto Rusty’s Markets on...
Experience where the Locals shop and goto Rusty’s Markets on Friday - Saturday and Sunday for all your fresh fruit and vegetables. Local food cuisines through to the vibrance and hospitality of different cultures in on melting pot of happiness.
Terrible - do not stay here with family ! It’s loud, beds are uncomfortable, sketchy people everywhere!!! Loud music till early hours of morning. Costs the same as a resort as a family room there. Save yourself money and pay less at cairns resort. They say it’s not a party place, don’t believe it. My children could not sleep. To be honest, I couldn’t. I thought the floor was okay (we checked in and let the kids on the floor, after playing for 3 mins their feet were black ! From the inside hotel room! ) ridiculous. I could have vomited
We had a lovely stay in cairns. The location of the apartment was excellent. We loved walking to the cairns lagoon, the night markets/esplanade and along the boardwalk with so many dining options. Island day trips leave from the marina just 2 minutes walk! The apartment was clean, had everything we needed and we loved the convenience of a kitchen and laundry for our family. The balcony had a lovely view of the water. Thank you!!
The staff at this hotel really made the stay wonderful. They were helpful and nice and booked my tour and taxi. Cairns is so hot so it was nice to have good air con and the pools. Its a short walk to the esplanade and the park. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot and clean. The wifi worked pretty well and the kitchen was equipped with anything youd need. Its also good to have access to laundry facilities on each floor
Spacious, clean, well equipped, centra location, pool and in unit washer & dryer. Heinrich the manager went over and above in accommodating us. We arrived on Good Friday and all the groceries stores we closed, the day before we forward him a small shopping list and all the items were in or fridge upon arrival. He offered a shuttle service to restaurants, tours, airport….etc for a small fee. This is the place to stay in Cairns.
Older style but very clean and comfortable with good instructions for late night entry. Close proximity to the Cairns Esplanade and some lovely coffee shops for breakfast. Arrived after midnight on a late flight - this hotel is one of the closest to the airport - only $19 for taxi. Hotel cost just over $100, a real bargain, given an unexpected overnight stop thanks to Jetstar changes to an international flight.
Fantastic location right on the Cairns waterfront with delicious breakfast from the Cafe over the road. Easy walking distance to many restaurants for dinner. Beautiful, spacious, well furnished apartments with locked garage parking for our hire car. Loved sitting on the balcony, cooling off in the pool and going for walks on the Esplanade.
Jackie met us on arrival, she was very friendly and gave us a tour of the complex. The unit is bright and very clean.
The kitchenette has good facilities. The location was perfect for us:- walking to distance to Cairns Central, the city, the esplanade, the waterfront and restaurants. The unit is good value of money.
Wonderful location and great views from our 9th floor room. We were also impressed with the fact that there were 3 laundries and even a post box.
The esplanade with its many restaurants was nearby as was Woolworths, which was just around the corner.
When next we are in Cairns, we hope to stay at this hotel again.
I like the convenience of the central Cairns CBD location. Just one block away from the ocean, walking distance to shops, cafes & restaurants.
The beds are very comfy and the rooms are clean and modern. Staff are friendly & helpful!
This hotel is quite new, only a couple of years old...opened late 2019.
Loved the 3 pools, the balcony overlooking the pool was a great view. The apartments were a 15 minute walk to the Esplanade however that wasn't an issue, we could Ubers if we didn't want to walk that distance. Very close to Cairns Central shopping centre and great value. I would stay again.
The staff were friendly and very helpful. I was pleased with the room on both visits as it was comfortable and clean. The outdoor areas were well maintained and user friendly. The hotel was also only a short 10 minute walk to the centre of Cairns. Would gladly recommend this hotel.
Location was convenient to the Esplanade and the airport. Room was spacious, comfortable and airconditioned with a sink, fridge and table and chairs. Onsite cafe was reasonably priced and convenient, unlike many restaurants in Cairns that are just expensive tourist traps.
everything was so clean and the room was pretty mush standard between me and my partner we both have 1 year old child therefore we both love the Luxury of the location and the room we would like to take our family to stay there for holiday THANK YOU CAIRNS INN
Location is excellent for this well priced hotel. Directly opposite the Cairns Lagoon and close to the Night Markets. No parking but ticket parking for 3 hours at a time nearby. Very comfy beds and very clean. Restaurant/Bar on top floor very good too.
Location right in the action of Cairns Esplanade with a breathtaking view of the ocean. Apartment great size for a family if 4.
Overall clean and well maintained for an older apartment with update Kitchen and bathrooms.
Great location on cairns esplanade with views of the shore front. 2 bed 2 bathroom apartment in secure building with undercover off street parking.
Would definitely recommend to other family's.
Beautiful apartment with a fantastic view. So spacious. Had everything we needed.
The location is excellent to restaurants and the marina. A wonderful alternative to a typical hotel room.
I liked the location, I was easily able to explore the city centre of Cairns on foot. i choose Mantra hotels because i know what to expect and they never let me down.
Great location, opposite Cairns central, walking distance to Rusty's markets and easy flat walk to Esplanade. Plenty of room in apartment for family to spread out
