Excellent beach. Nice walks that are easy to get to. Flat so easy to walk around - plenty of good restaurants. Has other facilities like supermarkets very handy. It is a busy place so if you don't like lots of people it may not be for you.

Coming into Byron Bay was bumper to bumper traffic which put me off, it was the same leaving Byron Bay when we went off to do a day trip.
I was told that it had gotten so expensive, the workers couldn't afford to live there so they lived out of town and commuted. Hence the traffic.
I had visited Byron Bay before but the town, to me has lost it's charm. Too many high end shops have put an end to the sleepy, alternate lifestyle i remembered. Even the trip to see the lighthouse our parking was charged

Just a beautiful place and the markets were superb. And music at the beach was awesome. So many shops and all of good quality. Miss Margaritas the Mexican restaurant was beautiful and loved the walk to the lighthouse through Warrego Beach. And the solar train to Northbeach was so cool.

Not much I can say here that isn't said in a thousand travel blogs.
An ex-locals advice.
Grab a meal at Chiquita, Lightyears, Bonito and Bayleaf and you won't be disappointed. Go to the farmers markets for tastiest produce outside of NZ. Industrial estate supermarket is cheaper than Woolies in town generally, but Woolies has larger selection. Do NOT rely on Uber, their service is near non-existent in the area outside of absolute peak periods. Byron Bay Taxis are great, know their way around and can handle all size groups.

It is a charming little town with many cafes & restaurants & hotels (pubs), next to the big long beautiful beach. It is a relaxing place to stay a night a two to unwind.
The food (breakfast & dinner) was fantastic - it make me think that competition is really great for providing the best! With so many of them in that small town, they have to stay on top of each others to survive.
It's a good place to leisurely stroll around on foot or on bicycle - if you drive, 2 minutes can reach anywhere IN the town :)
YHA Byron Bay is a great place to stay. The lighthoue at Cape Byron is a beautiful place to visit.

If you’re coming from a big city like Sydney and Melbourne, there is nothing much to do in Byron Bay. We did the whale watching from Cape Byron lighthouse(for free), not many good places to eat or variety.
This is Wendy from the Mornington Peninsula not Hongkong..please change.
We loved our stay at the Atlantic Byron Bay & can’t wait to visit again.
We loved the rooms, shared spaces and beautiful pool and outdoor seating spaces. So stylish and relaxing, a beautiful place to stay.
We stayed 3 nights in a ground floor room, it was a perfect location, the room was very spacious and clean and the staff were gracious and welcoming.
It’s a lovely hotel with the bar next door, which has the Byron bay vibe, which we loved.
Barbara's guesthouse was so lovely to stay in. Very clean and the perfect launching place for exploring Byron Bay. It was within walking distance of everything! Had all the amenities you'd need in the kitchen too.
