Off season Mondsee looks like a huge house for elderly. Almost everything was closed, apart from a few restaurants in the middle of the city. Everything on the beach is closed from january to february.

Amazing location, beautiful nature, gorgeous lake and the mountains offered perfect walking tours. Local people were nice too :) The centre of the city is small and pretty, many pubs with great wine and food. The location as well as the nature were well taken care off and clean.
Totally worth visiting: Observation tower Kulmspitz
We will for sure come back to explore more.

We were before Christmas, and at this time it is definitely worth going to this city for half a day! The center is small, but very nice, there is a small Christmas market, mostly with food, a very beautiful Basilica, and of course, the lake itself deserves a walk to it. After a two-hour walk, a good lunch at a local cafe or right at the market, and here is the minimum plan completed! In the summer, for sure, the program will be different.

Mondsee is a pretty small town from which it is easy to explore the other lakes and towns in the Salzkammergut region. Highly recommend the Seecafe for its view right on the lake. There were many shops offering the traditional Austrian "Tracht," so if you've always wanted to buy a Dirndl, this is your big opportunity.

They have the best church around the area, St Gilgen, St Wolfgang, Bad Ischl, etc. we were there last Sunday of 2019 and there were choir singing and the sound of the huge organ above the main entrance is just so perfect. Very good mass I have ever experienced, so quiet and solemn. The town itself is small, no restaurants and shops open on a Sunday.
The hotel boasts a remarkable location with stunning views overlooking Mondsee lake and the surrounding mountains. Although our stay was brief, the establishment exudes a tranquil and relaxing ambiance. The hosts were exceptionally hospitable and welcoming. Additionally, our room was very clean and spacious, and we enjoyed a fantastic view from the balcony. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and look forward to extending our stay on our next visit.
Wonderful staff. Very nice rooms, with great mix of old building and modern interior. Quite a nice breakfast in a slightly cramped space. The variety is huge, you get everything you want for the day.
We used the place as base for mountain hiking, quite a few nice tours available straight from the hotel.
The hotel has very well maintained bikes you can just take for the day. Very easy to get to the nice spots on Mondsee and Attersee.
Staff was very helpful. We rented 2 electric bikes and as the battery was only 60-70% they only charged for one. Was a detail and we did more than 40 km! I truly reccomend renting these electric bikes for a lake tour, THe whole place is fantastic and as a family-driven hotel we feel at home. Breakfasts were delicius and with a good variety of foods and of course eggs, variety of cheeses and vegetables and fruits!
Booked this hotel for my girlfriend and she loved it! The location was a few meters away from the lake, bus terminal and the city center. The hotel room was spacious and clean. She absolutely enjoyed the bathtub! Wifi signal was strong. Breakfast and lunch at the restaurant were great. The staff were really friendly and was able to accommodate our little request. We will definitely book this hotel again.
Got a room upgrade to a double room. The house is directly next to the lake which is really nice. There are rooms with street view and rooms with lake view. Due to the upgrade I had a room with balcony and lake view which makes nice photos and invites for relaxing. For the price it's a really good value. Staff is very friendly. Parking is available on the street and nearby paid parking lots.
Hospitality of the family Hemetsberger, ideal location and extremly clean rooms. Everything is just as it should be - simplicity with warm hand-made details. Our room was the best in the house - with a beautiful view on the Mondsee lake and mountains, we can't imagine better treat (stay was a present for my husband on his 50th birthday). Ideal for water sports lovers. We will come again!

We had the best stay in Austria, a very friendly family is running the establishment, amazing location and the most wonderful view. It was a perfect stay.

Nice remote location, outside of busy city life. Mondsee can be reached even by foot by taking the path along the stream.
We stayed in a big apartment on the top floor; very clean rooms, comfy bed and nice view from the balcony.
Best thing about our stay: the breakfast. The home made pancakes served each morning are simply amazing!

The location was perfect, beautiful view over the lake but only 5 minutes drive down to Mondsee. Judith and her family were so welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed, including fresh eggs and milk every day. The property was very clean and a great size!
Very good and quiet location, we had a studio with the lake view. The studio had everything needed for us. We were with a little baby, so we additionally appreciated good sound isolation between the living room and bedroom. The owner was quite a friendly person.
The apartment was clean and tidy. The owner was quick to response in case you need something in the apartment. And it’s easy to locate. It’s just 2mins walk to the Mondsee bus terminal and Spar Grocery mall is directly behind the apartment.
