Ehrwal is a nice village at the foot of Zugspitze. There are a few hotels and restaurants as well as winter sport facilities. We were there in September and the meadows were green and the views nice after disipation of the morning fog.

Lovely village in Austria. Lots of walking options, from easy to strenous, with stunning scenery of lakes and mountains. Cable cars giving easy access to the mountains. A Guest Card, given to tourists staying in local properties, allows use of regular local buses, which link the Cable Car stations. Also, a Z Card can be purchased to allow daily use of cable cars, including one trip to the Zugspitze. Some lovely restaurants in the village, and 2 supermarkets. Overall, a great holiday location.

A dream town for travellers searching for skiing, relaxing or just wandering along the country side. Amazing views, cozy town, great location very close to main hotspots in Tirol.
Despite being small, it has everything needed for a day to day life: supermarkets, pharmacy, indorr swimming pool and spa, cable cars to the Zugspitze summit reachable on foot, a few restaurants...

Lovely and beautiful place, but really bad transport system there. Maybe we were unlucky to had such negative experience with cancelled train and buses 10.06.22, so we had to take a taxi to Oberau to get a train to Munich.

Lovely village, very kind people, nice selection of hotels and restaurants around. Also some good hiking shops with reasonable prices. Very nice views around. There was also a nice free concert at the square on a Monday. Looks like there is a lively community of Austrians here!
We stayed at Der Grune Baum Mountain and Boutique hotel and ate at Restaurant Al Castagno. They were both excellent, couldn’t recommend them enough!
Amazing place and super caring owner. Good breakfast, clean rooms (daily service) with a super location. The shop is relatively close and so are some good restaurants.
Had wellness from a close by hotel included as well. And the view from the balcony was spectacular.
To elaborate more on the owner: it feels like you're at grandparents :). Came from a bike trip and the owner proposed to wash our clothes free of charge. Also everyday would ask if everything is okay. And even if our room didn't include a fridge she let us use one.
The couple that owns the hotel are super nice, they got good recommendations for the surrounding area. The breakfast was wonderful, and hotel itself is incredible. Everything in good taste, the room is big and balcony with the best view. I’ll sure come again, and send everyone who go to the tirol to hotel alpin.
We loved the view from the balcony! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals and the apartment was cozy and super clean. It was a great location to have as base for daily hikes. Staying in Zugspitzhotel Diana Thörle was probably my favorite part of our holiday. Would love to come back in winter one day!
We have a pleasant stay at this lovely property, really thanks to the owner as they helped us a lot with our stay. Their location is really great for ski at Ehrwald Alm, just 5 minutes walk to the bus stop. Their property also provides a room to keep your ski equipment, many thanks to the owner again🤍
The apartment is new and beautiful, perfect view from the balcony, the kitchen is very comfortable the location of the hotel is great! the stuff are very friendly . the only thing that wasn't great is the mattress. it was not so comfortableת we will come back!!!

The room was clean.
Every guest seem to be orderly and quiet. It was my first time in Ehrwald and I really will come back here again for climbing other mountains.
Terrace was on two sides with a magnificent view of Ehrwald. Beautiful. I rated the place just for that.
The place is a little up the hill at a distance from the town. Not a big deal unless travelling with small children and no car.
Wonderful breakfast with a great variety. Wonderful spa (included) and masseuse (extra cost). The entire hotel was recently renovated and is nicely appointed. The room was excellent with a very, very comfortable bed.
Very luxurious top shelf place. The restaurant and spa areas, plus the pool, relaxation, and lobby areas were as nice as it gets. Right downtown Ehrwald, everything within walking distance. Loved every bit of it.
The room is excellent. beautiful view facing the Zugspitze. two bedrooms equipped with equally comfortable double bed.
I also booked a standard plus apartment on my way back of my vacation. we will see.
