THis facility is EXCELLENT!!! What a dream of a place to relax and vacation. Mother Nature provided rain for many days but we were comfortable, well taken are of and enjoyed the clean indoor pool and sauna. Gorgeous grounds, fantastic breakfast and afternoon "Kaffee und Kuchen" with delights backed by Margareta (the owner) herself. This is a family operated hotel and restaurant and we were truly spoiled. They all went above and beyond helping us (when our rental car would not start), catered to our needs for our 93 year old mother and were always kind, friendly and accommodating. The restaurant on the property called the Mostschenke im Heustadl and provides a five star Austrian experience in dining. The family has been on this property since the 1600's and have up-dated and built the hotel in the last ten - twelve years. The Mostschenke is the renovated cattle barn and it a delightful venue for dining. The Hotel is clean, bright and the two bedroom chalet suite is a dream for a family vacation. An excellent family-run hotel, and its restaurant is excellent too. The breakfast is of superb quality and offers a huge selection of everything you could want, including non-dairy milk, which I appreciated. The WiFi is good and is secured with a password. Many of the rooms have a balcony, which I really appreciated having. The hotel is very convenient to reach by train (to Ebensee Landungsplatz) and is a good place to set out from on walks into the mountains. There's a lovely lido with good facilities at Rindbach, about twenty minutes' walk from the hotel, where you can swim in the Traunsee, and also a spot near the hotel, reached on foot by a subway (underpass) under the main road, where you can get to the Traunsee (with a diving board!). I would be very happy to stay here again.
Ebensee is full of history about the production of salt which you can find out about from the town trail and the museums, part of the story of this region's export of salt using the Traun to transport it.

Breakfast spread par to none we enjoyed and ever so friendly and helpful staff. The location on the shore of the Traunsee and easy access to the lakes of the Salzkammergut. Would highly recommend the boat trip around the lake and a must visit to Gmunden on one end of the lake with its castles and villas of the nobility’s of now and past. Not to forget a visit to Hallstatt and the summer residence of the Emperor’s of Austria and Hungary in Bad Ischl. Salzburg the birthplace of Mozart with a visit to the castle and the list goes on.

This is a lovely hotel very close to the lake. The rooms are clean & comfortable with a mixture of traditional & modern - but combined very sympathetically. The staff were very friendly & helpful and the breakfast buffet was lovely.

lovely location, great in the summer and if you are there for the dark sky park (for those night photographers, or just astronomy lovers) its perfect. Go on a new moon though as that is when the sky is at its best.

A beautiful lakeside place. Not far from many sites and attractions in the lakes area (not more than an hour's drive). About 15 minutes drive from Bad Ischl.
The town closes very early in tbe evening.

I spent there a week of which 3 days were raining an 3 were clear. In the sunny days I had 3 excusions in the mountains and to Hallstatt. Ebensee is a very good starting point for different attractions (cable car lines, lake cruises, museums and other) which are availabe on spot or in the 15-45 minures car drive.
The town offers good relation between price and quality.
Nicole greeted us on the day of our arrival. She was very attentive and punctual and friendly. Location of the apartment was great. Close to main roads and the town and shops and restaurants and attractions. Balcony/terrace was nice and it had a sun umbrella which made our balcony time much more enjoyable. We will definitely re-visit and enjoy beautiful nature of Ebensee!
Very decent hotel. Without luxuries, the hotel is not the newest. But for that price I didn't expect it will be so nice. Big plus for kind staff, great breakfast (and kid's corner in the dinning room!) and of course localisation: we could walk to the lake, children's playground.
An excellent place to stay in Ebensee. The host was so accomodating and made sure that we had everything we needed for the stay. I can only recommend this place :)
