Amer Fort Road, Jaipur
Built over 175 years ago within the city of Jaipur as the royal family manor, Samode Haveli reflects the style and elegance of the royals. A special feature of the Haveli is the elephant ramp. It offers an outdoor swimming pool and a spa and wellness centre. First of all, this is NOT a hotel. Its a Haveli, that has been converted into a hotel. The rooms were fabulous, probably the biggest room in which I have ever stayed. We had booked the entry-level rooms, but due to off-season times, they upgraded our rooms for FREE! It was such a generous gesture on their part! I loved the room, which had a big hall with a Dining Table, then a four-posted bed, and another area with a Sofa set and Television. The bathroom was very expansive as well with a hanging rod closet and shower area with a big bathtub. They enquired us before our arrival on when we will be reaching the place, and made sure our arrival was very good. Gave us a welcome drink in the hot weather, had our rooms already ready for us to enter. At every touch-point, we were amazed with the hospitality and kindness we received. We tried out different dishes in the almost 24x7 restaurant and probably some of the best tasting home-made dishes we ever had! I never had Bhindi this good before! The swimming pool was great, so was the SPA. We opted for the Samode Signature massage and it was great! We went there for 4 days and 3 nights. Spent one entire day outside the Haveli, visiting different places in Jaipur and shopping and eating. One day we spent in the resort - After breakfast, relaxed a bit in the room then went for SPA. After that relaxed again and had lunch there and spent a good time in the pool with the family, and finished it with a nice dinner outside. Each member of the staff made sure our experience was great and they were really nice to us! I would specifically point out to Prateek, Santoshi at the reception and Surajdev (I don't recall the name properly right now) in the restaurant who had prepared Raan-e-Musallam one night before at our request, a dish that was amazing and too delectable! The stay might be a little expensive for the odd tourist, but we went there with this in mind and it exceeded our expectation at every point!
Jaisalmer
Offering an outdoor swimming pool, a massage parlour and a spa and wellness centre, The Gulaal is located in Jaisalmer. It is 1 km from Jaisalmer Fort, Gadisar Lake and Jaisalmer Folklore Museum. The property offers free parking. Hotel Gulaal is THE BEST! The rooms are really comfy and nice, the location is great and the service is unparalleled. Service - all around the service is 10/10 but what really sets them apart is how they go above and beyond. I unfortunately left our passports and some cash in a desk drawer in our room and didn’t realize until we reached Jodhpur a 6 hour train ride away. Victor went out of his way to figure out how to get it all to me. Not 24 hours later I had my passports and all of my cash. I’m so immensely grateful to him for taking the time and urgency to get this to us. Rooms/facilities - the room we had was spacious and the bed was so soft and comfy. The Haveli courtyards are beautiful and the swimming pool is really nice. We spent way too much time in the shaded chairs by the pool jumping in whenever we needed to cool off. Location - it is outside of the fort but that worked really nicely for us. We walked 15 minutes to the fort every morning until it got hot, then took a tuktuk back to eat breakfast at the hotel. Then we’d hang out at the pool all day, then go back to the fort for golden hour, sunset and dinner. Then walk back at night. It was nice to have some separation and quietness at the hotel. Plus walking back was really fun to see the city not just the fort. Food - breakfast was included and really good. Highly recommend masala cheese omelette (masala means mixed in this case - tomato, cilantro, onion and peppers). For lunch we ordered masala papad, cheese naan and mango lassi by the pool - all delicious. We had one dinner at the hotel and shared malai kofta - it was just OK compared to other malai kofta we have had. Overall highly recommend this hotel for your trip to Jaisalmer!
Gadsisar Lake, Jaisalmer
Encompassing a blend of traditional Rajasthani designs with wood carved furniture, air-conditioned rooms are equipped with a desk, a fan, a sofa area and a TV. Hot/cold shower facilities are included in the en suite bathroom. We had a great time at 1st gate. We were welcomed with snacks and drinks. The staff was very helpful and always smiling. Whenever we stepped out for an activity; the staff would hand over a bag full of fruits and water. The fort is 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The room was spacious and comforting after all day of sightseeing hustle. We also enjoyed the interesting fusion of Italian and Indian flavors at the rooftop restaurant.

The hotel staff were very helpful and welcoming and Sunil was an excellent host giving good advice around local events. We enjoyed our stay so much we extended from four nights to eight nights in two different rooms (both rooms were lovely but if you have the budget I highly recommend going for the suite!)

A lovely boutique hotel in the old city of Jaisalmer with great views of the Fort. Nothing was too much trouble for Vicky and his staff, it was quiet , stylish and a great location for enjoying the city. With a lovely rooftop cafe with delicious food .
There won't be a better place to stay in Udaipur. Yes, it is expensive for India, but if you want that little bit of luxury in a gorgeous setting with views over the lake, great food, fantastic service, friendly and helpful staff, 5 min walk to the Palace gates, and frankly a get away from it all vibe this is the place for you. It is very very lovely boutique.
Clean to Western standards (apologies if this offends anyone). Design of the place is old Rajasthan haveli, refurbished a few years back. Conformable bed, AC and beautiful bathroom with hot water. Staff were helpful and friendly, offered me fruit and breakfast despite having not booked in advance. Owner of the place is a senior man, lovely to speak to him and hear the stories he had to share. Location is in city center, close to everything. Gorgeous front grden.Would very much recommend to anyone visiting Jaipur.
