We stayed here one night and she was so accomadating with our luggage and even brought it up to our room when it was ready. The room was so nice and cozy and decorated beautifully! The property features lovely greenery, as well its own cave and patio area. Interiors feature wooden beams, original fireplaces and embossed wallpaper. The spacious rooms have elegant design and come with free WiFi, heating and a private bathroom. Some rooms look onto the nearby River Derwent. Very clean and comfortable room and bed, excellent food, lovely people.

All rooms have a flat screen TV, fridge and tea and coffee facilities. Most rooms have an en suite shower, while 2 rooms share a luxury bathroom. There is an extra private bathroom including a bath available to all guests. Two of the rooms are pet-friendly. Warm friendly welcoming. Breakfast was amazing so many different choices. Delicious cakes to help yourself to when arriving back after a long walk. Beautiful accommodation, warm, cosy and very clean.

The breakfast was freshly prepared to order and delicious. Homemade preserves with breakfast were a special treat as were the home made flapjacks (YUM) in our room each day. Ellen House is also very close to the train station if that is how you travel.
