We expected the Castle of Comfort to be a country house hotel, which it is not. It is a former pub set back from a fairly busy road. However, it has been beautifully converted into a most comfortable hotel with much thought having been put into every detail. The lounge bar is a pleasant place to sit after a day out. The dinner menu is interesting and the food is excellent. The swimming pool had closed for the winter but the grounds are pleasant. The staff were friendly and efficient. We stayed for three nights and would happily return.

Our stay was very pleasant. The lovely owners and staff are very friendly, nothing is too much trouble. We only stayed for 1 night so that we could attend a wedding nearby, we had a room on the ground floor with separate access - this was a bonus given that we would be coming back very late that night. The breakfast was delicious and the restaurant very cosy and full of character. We would highly recommend. Thank you for a lovely stay!

The accommodation was absolutely beautiful and perfectly clean. There is private parking on site and there’s only 2 cabins so it’s very private and secluded which was nice. There was a fridge, hob, toaster, coffee machine, microwave & grill as well as a BBQ outside so had everything you could need. I wish we had booked to stay for longer and will definitely be returning at some point. It was really homely and cosy, and very good value for the standard it was.
