Violet Lodge was lovely, very clean and had a well eqipped kitchen. The bed was very comfortable. The hosts, Simon and Tricia were very helpful. The lodge looks over a grassy wooded area and we were treated to watching Muntjac deers graze on the grass. The lodge is located about 100 metres from the White Horse Inn which serves food and a good range of beers. There is also a shop/cafe and a gift shop in the village. The Saddlery B&B, also in the village serves takeaway wood fired pizzas on Fridays during the summer months and the pizzas were very good. All in all we had an a very enjoyable stay and we would certainly highly recommend Violet Lodge for a cosy relaxing break.
