The Armathwaite spa features a hydrotherapy pool, a sauna and a steam room. There is a large outdoor hot tub and a holistic beauty salon with treatment rooms.

The fine dining restaurant at Armathwaite Hall serves traditional Cumbrian dishes and classical French cuisine. A full Cumbrian breakfast is served each day, and afternoon tea can be enjoyed in the conservatory or by the lawns.

Fantastic hotel and fantastic surroundings. Excellent breakfast with perfect service. Everything was superb and we really recommend a stay here. Only problem was that we only booked one night. We would have liked to stay longer.

The apartment was spacious, large bedrooms, a bathroom with hot tub, another bathroom with a spacious shower, and a very well-appointed living space. The bonus, a private terrace but it was too cold to enjoy, and direct access to the car. The insulation was perfect, no noise from the other rooms. We had a very good night, the bedding was comfortable, and everything was very clean. The pool was really at the right temperature (I'm chilly), and big enough not to be embarrassed with several families at the same time.

A very good value and friendly welcoming destination , they rescued us from having to go home early from our holiday cottage that couldn’t extend our stay , we stayed in the buttermere suite which is compact and cosy in the top floor ( we appreciated the room ) but we did notice some more luxurious rooms with a veranda etc , but we got our room last minute the same day and we are so glad we stayed . We would definitely stay again however we would request those rooms with the veranda 👍perfect
