Property was a dairy farm was a special treat for me and my wife who grew up on a farm.. The entire operation was in a lovely setting, our room looked out onto the back field of cows and view of a large mountain. Very picturesque, looked like a painting.. Proximity to Brecon Beacons and Abergavenny only a few miles away was perfect. Mrs. Jones was warm and hospitable. Breakfast was prepared with care and she is a lovely host. Rooms were very well appointed, beds comfortable, bathroom and showers were clean and adjusting water temperature worked very well... Great couples getaway.

A recently renovated holiday home situated in Abergavenny, The Cottage features a garden. This property offers access to a patio, free private parking and free WiFi. The property is non-smoking and is located 48 km from University of South Wales - Cardiff Campus.

The cottage is set in a collection of farm buildings on a working sheep farm. There are Shetland ponies and chickens around and guinea fowl wandering everywhere. The host and her staff were extremely welcoming and helpful for any requests we had. The cottage inside and out is very quaint with all the items we needed for 5 people and a number of friends and relatives visiting over our 3 weeks stay. Climbing Wisteria plants in full bloom on the back of the cottage welcomed us and by the time we left the kitchen windows were framed by opening pink roses. The local area is full of things to do from the "Big Pit" underground experience, market days in Abergavenny, the tiny country roads to get lost in and a myriad of villages, castles and country pubs and inns to replenish us. The local canal on the hillside is a lovely place for a gentle walk and watch the wildlife. We will be back, already booked in fact. The owner was so accommodating I can't thank her enough. Chic town house has to be one of our favourite places to stay, it's in a perfect position for the town centre and for long walks with our dogs in the meadow, the house is beautiful, very welcoming with everything you could need for a perfect break, we always feel sad to leave, and we are already looking forward to our next stay in April of next year, thank you Jane.

It was just a lovely cottage with everything you need, such a lovely little spot! Absolutely loved all the bird watching, so many birds out the window on the feeders. The most lovely chilled stay, loved it so much, so cosy, equipped with everything, lovely comfortable beds. Bedding smelled lovely!! Just all round a lovely spot to relax and unwind, a really lovely restful stay. Whilst I was still there we booked to come back the same time the next year.

We had an amazing time staying at the Old Rectory. Liz (plus her two dogs and her cat) gave us a very warm welcome. The house - as the name says - is a 200 years old rectory, lovingly restored and tended by Liz and looking like a film set for a costume drama. The bedroom was very cosy (with a great selection of English literary classics!), breakfast - including eggs from Liz‘s chickens, which you might meet wandering on the road to the house - is served in a wood-panelled dining room.

Had an amazing evening and morning, booked the cottage with hot tub and even though it rained we still had a great time in the hot tub because of the shelter over it. Extremely good value for money, the hosts were really friendly on arrival and helped with any questions we had ( how to use the hot tub?, because neither of us had used one before) the cottage was spacious but cosy at the same time. We will definitely be booking again soon.
