Loved the rustic vibe of the homestay. The food was fresh and delicious. The homestay members were extremely helpful and accommodating, all the while ensuring that we were having a good time. They were so thoughtful to pack us a hearty breakfast with fresh mangoes right from their garden because we had to checkout quite early.
The tour arranged by them to experience the local market, handicrafts, and fruit garden was truly a pleasure. Sau who was our local guide is a wonderful woman.
Nhi and Nhan were wonderful hosts who helped us navigate through the unknowns and were always just a chat away for any help requested.
I would highly recommend staying in this homestay and experiencing the local scenes in a cycle.

The balcony by the river is the main stunning attribute of this accommodation! We loved seeing the boats drive by and relaxing just by the water. The interior decoration also provides a relaxing g vibe while the host is very helpful if you have questions.

Such a lovely home stay! A beautiful garden oasis with every detail thought of… lovely teas, soft towels, custom made white cotton robes and an outdoor shower with tile and stone work that makes you feel like you are in a fairy land. Yennie’s welcoming generosity makes you feel at home and the food is fresh and delicious. The geckos chirp at night right outside your room and Yennie will make you a cocktail with purple butterfly flowers from the garden. The tour we took on the river with a pottery workshop, puffed rice candy making and rice paper pancakes was fascinating. And definitely don’t miss the market, so many different types of fruits vegetables, and live seafood. A restaurant at the market served the best Pho I’ve ever had.
I wish I could have staid longer! Highly recommend!
Cool town on Mekong river with peaceful views and friendly...
Cool town on Mekong river with peaceful views and friendly people. There are so many activities to do like visiting fruit plantation, sitting on boat along a narrow channel with 2 green along the way. I like the most seeing sunrise at Bo Song Quan coffee and Huong Quan food is great!!

Not a huge amount to do in this area.
Not a huge amount to do in this area. It’s a great getaway to relax and unwind in a resort.
To get there from HCM I would use a bus company to the tourist port.
You can cycle around but there isn’t a huge amount to see.
Not lots of choice of places to eat outside the hotel.
Lots of rubbish sadly, would be great to see some conservation projects or community clearing projects to help with this.
The property is very well laid out with duplex units on the river, lake or garden. All very nice. The bath is spacious and the little deck nice to enjoy the views. The pool is large although too shallow on one side. Great for the toddlers. The breakfast is good if it’s the buffet but if you order by menu just so so. Restaurant serves nicely prepared dishes at resort prices. Thr staff as usual in Vietnam is eager to help. We arrived by rented scooter and had some trouble with it. Three guys were omit and had the problem
fixed in a jiffy.
Spacious and clean rooms with air conditioner what you definitely need. Super nice staff and a hotel where you could easily relax a few days. Mekong Delta tours are nice but they tend to stop at shops or factories where they more or less force you to buy something or give tips. It was so uncomfortable that we didn’t enter the last shop. The tours through the Delta itself are nice and a must. Maybe you make it clear at the hotel that you come for the nature and culture and not to shop and avoid the experiences we made.
Amazing experience staying in Cai Be at Sao Mai Hotel. Vu and his family really take care of you here. When you stay here you will be fed delicious home made meals and have the opportunity to speak with Vu and his family, getting a better understanding of Vietnam and the Mekong region. They will help you with everything in your stay whether it be food, tours, bus tickets and onward travel! Room was very comfortable with hot water and AC. Thank you for everything!
If you want an authentic Mekong Delta experience, look no further! The lovely owner Vu and his family really go the extra mile to make your stay here worthwile. From the personal Mekong tour with Vu himself to the family dinners (both very reasonably priced) to the spontaneous visit to his father's fruit garden, everything was great. On top of this, the accommodation is also very comfortable and clean.
Can only recommend staying at Sao Mai Hotel!
This was the best accommodation we’ve had, hands down. The food was EXCEPTIONAL, the garden beautiful & peaceful and our hosts were warm and welcoming.
Our river tour with Nhi was an absolute highlight - we saw and experienced so much.
Yes it’s rustic and doesn’t have all of the comforts of a city hotel, but that’s the point!
It was the only time we felt that we truly got away from the tourist traps and experienced the real Vietnam.
A very clean and spacious house, with a comfortable outside area in a very nice , leafy part of Cai Be, we did very nice walks through narrow paths off the main street, tiny canals in people’s gardens, an unexpected school in the middle of maize of small paths, one feels that the jungle starts just behind this part of the city. There is also a very neat restaurant with AC room next door.
The location is very special, with large gardens and grounds right on the river you couldn’t ask for a more ideal setting. The pool area is lovely and the staff were very helpful. The hotel manager Duy personally took care of us - he helped book our bus to the next destination, expertly administered first aid when we needed it, and gave us some interesting facts about the Mekong.
Lovely if slightly rustic hotel on the Mekong Delta. Food was really delicious, much better than some previous reviews suggested. Great tours, free bike hire appreciated. Seamless communication with booking.com taxis regarding pick up and drop off (as have to access from a boat). Overall great relaxing time.
Outdoor facilities where very nice, very chill with the constant view on the river and passing boats. Swimming pool is lovely, restaurant was very good with lots of variety ! In overall, we had a lovely experience ! The boat tour organized by the hotel is pretty touristic but nice for newcomers in Vietnam ;)
I adored this little place by the river! Very homey vibes and way bigger than expected. There's a kitchen, a bathtub, two beds, a sofa and armchairs to relax and read. Bicycles also available to move around Cai Be town. Having breakfast with the boats passing by is priceless, I will definitely be back!
This spacious property is exactly like the photos and very thoughtfully designed. The owners were incredibly helpful on check-in, check-out, and with any questions we had, including organising the bus to leave Caí Be. They also adapted the breakfast for our diet at the last minute.
The place is very nice in the middle of the nature and wonderful seeview of Mekong. Free bikes to go to the Cai Be town. They offer organised tour for 600k dongs per person but there is not floating market any more in Cai Be since Covid.
During the days in Cai be, we had the chance to discover the city thanks to Vuvu. He helps us with everything (bus, activities…). It’s was not only an hotel but a experience in the Vuvu’s family.
Mister Vu was so helpful right from the booking of the hotel to checking out. He showed us his village and gave us a great tour of the surrounding area. Everything was really great!! Thanks Vu!
The rooms were nice. The food at the hotel restaurant was decent. The pool needed to be cleaned. The spa was closed though that was not advertised until we were at the hotel.
