They gave me advice and clear instruction on transportation to Con Dao via Sóc Trăng. They wrote me a note in Vietnamese to show to the bus manager. Justine even walked me out to the main road at 4am to catch the shuttle in the rain. He recommended a great local restaurant to eat Ba La Lot. (Delicious Grilled Beef in Betel leaves - summer rolls) 10 mins walk to the pier and night street market. I was out on my own till 10pm and felt safe walking back. (FYI: Not the guys's fault. I didn't make the Superdong ferry shuttle, which leaves the office at 6:20am. The taxi cost to Tran De Port is 350,000 dong)

Beautiful place with a lot to see around and a great hub t see the Mekong delta. From our experience people were very friendly and kind and we were able to meet a lot of locals which we had the pleasure to spend hours talking to. Check the islands, the pagoda, the riverside, the night and the day market, and go to have dinner in close to the Mekong to some of their street food stands
Great little town. We were here to go on a cruise on the Mekong Delta which was a beautiful experience. Otherwise, besides sampling the wonderful food in Can Tho there isn't much to do, so a short stay is best in my opinion
Our Hotel overlooked the Mekong Delta and at night the floating restaurants were beautifully lit up. A lovely sight to watch every night. The waterfront park provided an excellent stroll and a good place to watch local life.
In my opinion the only interesting thing about this city is "Mekong delta trip" BUT you don't have to stay here in order to do that, you can easily get the trip to Can Tho from Sajgon.
Ben Tre Farm Stay was great! We ended up staying here longer than expected becuase we loved the location and vibe so much. The staff were really friendly, helpful and spoke great English :) We thoroughly enjoyed renting bicycles to tour around the jungle, lounging in the hammocks reading books and enjoying the life style of the Mekong Delta area. We also did the boat tour offered by the farm stay and we loved it! The area is a great experience for nature lovers, as you are far from big cities and the stress they bring. This may be difficult for some travellers tho as finding places to eat or an ATM can be an adventure ( A lot of local restaurants have no menus and no English, but hey that's part of the fun ) Locals smile and wave as you pass by. I recommend learning a bit of Vietnamese to help you out with food ( if your vegetarian for example) because as mentioned before English is very scarce. The Staff helped us out a lot with this. The rooms were sufficient. Not luxurious, but you shouldnt come to a farm stay expecting luxury. Mosquito nets and airconditioning. We found the beds quite solid, but that is usual in Vietnam and south east Asia. We really liked our stay at Ben Tre Farm Stay and would definatly stay again.
5th biggest town in Vietnam - but wide open streets and did not seem too busy. Couple of interesting museums and really good area in the street parallel to the night market for barrows of fresh delicious street food. Good stop off place to explore the Mekong Delta but don't get too excited about the floating market. It is for wholesale and has diminished in size over the years. Hundreds of tourist boats make the experience even less palatable. CAn Tho is definitely worth a visit.
Many facilities/ rooms are available here even at weekends in the early December, so no worries about rooms. Generally the prices here are quite expensive compared to the city like Saigon. And there are not many options for foods & drinks here, quite limited. People are not so friendly compared to other Mekong Delta region. For all, a good place for resting & relaxing out of city crowded stress.
You can book localy tour to the swimming market in small boats and have a good idea of the living in and with the mekong Delta. We paid for the tour € 42 for the boat and were only two.
Beautiful city nestled along waterways of the Mekong Delta. Very nice river front walks. Would recommend Eco Tours to see floating markets. Explore the city after some research for restaurants and shops. Many options off the main drag on the water. Two or three days is plenty depending on what your looking to see.
It’s such a shame that it’s so polluted and dirty, but that’s how it is. Think of a trip to the Mekong Delta as a way to see culture, rather than a trip to enjoy pristine natural scenery.
At first I thought the location was too far from city centre (2Kms) but soon realised it is the best area to stay, around the river very close to tourist tours of Mekong Delta. Can also walk to the main tourist areas, pagodas and market. Not many shops around hotel. The room itself was very good, clean, fridge, AC, TV, kettle, toiletries. The staff were very helpful. Organised for me to get to HCMC on a bus. I could never have arranged this the way they did. Breakfast provided was excellent, mainly Vietnamese but lots of choice.
The calm and relaxed place to be around mekong delta. perfect to finishing our holiday in Vietnam with staying at family owned homestay. we are happy to be able to experience the mekong life and to see and to be around the local. the tour that they organized was perfect, we took both floating market tour and the canal tour(finished around sunset), we truly enjoyed the home cook meal that was prepared there. everything was delicious especially the snakehead BBQ and manggo salad. daniel’s special breakfast was superb!!!

Best food we Had during the whole stay in Vietnam! Phoenix ist an uncredible good Cook! We also booked the floating Market Tour with Bosa and He showed us a Lot of interesting places beside the usual touristic paths. The Family is very kind and they will do anything to make you feel at Home and to Help you organize your vacation. The little Houses are comfy and Clean! We enjoyed the Natural Environment and the company of their 3 little friendly dogs. This is the perfect place to relax and to experience Mekong Delta

Superfriendly staff, helped us out before arrival to sort out daytrips to the floating market, and the Mekong Delta from the homestay. Nice scenic terrace overlooking a small river and with a small jetty so that one can aboard a boat to visit the floating markets. Food menu is brilliant, and while the homestay is in quite a remote location, it is not necessary to take a taxi ride for dinner into Can Tho town, as their kitchen will prepare you a truly sumptuous Vietnamese meal from their menu.
Our stay in Cai Be at Sao Mai Hotel was an experience we will never forget. Our host, Vu, is an exceptional man, very good English speaker - a guide and a nice man. He showed us the hidden places of the Mekong Delta, rice crops, traditional houses, we were invited to cook together in Vietnamese style, but beyond that we were received in his family's house at a party with over 50 people. Without a doubt, we will return to Sao Mai Hotel, thanks to Vu and his family, you are extraordinary.
Human is the reason to stay here,so welcoming and his english is very good. This home stay is authentic with wonderful food cooked by his mother. The best food I have in Vietnam. He took us on the Mekong Delta to see the floating market before too many tourists showes up. He shared all about the local fruits/food/flowers and we visited a noodle factory and local market and we borrowes a couple of bikes to ride around his lovely little village. A really lovely stay!

Martin's place is away from the tourists so you really get a feel of how the locals go about their daily lives. His place and the food is amazing, his staff so friendly. We loved walking in his garden/farm where we saw lotus flowers, fruit trees and hibiscus flowers. The early morning boat trip to the floating markets was brilliant. If you want to visit the Mekong Delta and can put up with a bit of noise at night you won't regret staying at Martin's place.

This was the best stay in all our time traveling Vietnam. Hosts are the nicest people ever, they feed you all the time with local goodies if you want they can help you arrange a tour of the Mekong Delta or they can suggest to you what you could see on your own. The whole place is stunning and peaceful. If I ever come to Vietnam again I will come back. I never write a review, but this place deserves to be praised. 100000/10 ❤️

One of the most memorable Tours during our vacation in Vietnam with Ms. Ha as the loveliest and best tour guide. We both stayed in her guest house and took the tour with her. Beautiful and comfy bungalow, literally on the water of the Mekong Delta (bungalows and dinner places on poles in the river) so if you want to visit the delta this is a really good stay! Staff is amazing and took us on a 5 hour boat trip on the rivers and told us so much interesting stuff about fish farms, coconut palms and Vietnam history. Food is good too! Can absolutely recommend.

Tuan and family went out of their way to make our stay memorable. The food was exceptional and plentiful. We had a chance to try many different Vietnamese dishes. We also went on the sunset tour and floating market tour which were very wonderful experiences. Tuan has very good english and provided much insight into life on the Mekong Delta. Would highly recommend this homestay.

Service at the Victoria Can Tho was fantastic the staff were very attentive and we had two private boat trips from there own pier at great price and guide gave us great insight into the local area on the Mekong Delta. Myself and my wife are both Coeliac's (Gluten Free diet ) and they had bread for us for breakfast. I would recommend this hotel anyone heading to Can Tho.
Yennie and her family are so attentive and wonderful. They ensured every minute was an awesome experience for us. The home stay is an oasis away from the craziness of Vietnamese streets. Vĩnh lưng is not touristy. It is real Mekong delta at its best. In four days we saw hardly any tourists. I highly recommend the tours and spa on Yennie website too.

This was our first time to Vietnam and first stop in the Mekong Delta. It is a quiet location (apart from the cockerel), and is perfect for a short stay or base to explore the Mekong. The hosts were lovely, kind, helpful and friendly. We had everything we needed for a nights stay. I would definitely recommend!!

Lovely if slightly rustic hotel on the Mekong Delta. Food was really delicious, much better than some previous reviews suggested. Great tours, free bike hire appreciated. Seamless communication with booking.com taxis regarding pick up and drop off (as have to access from a boat). Overall great relaxing time.

Great base for exploring the fascinating Mekong Delta and immersing yourself in the experience. The rustic bungalows may lack some creature comforts vs hotel (you have to be OK with bugs and animals), it actually enhances the experience. Good, simple food and beautiful seeing. Staff is so friendly!

Definitely one of the highlights of my trip in Vietnam ! Ecoco Homestay is the best place if you want to see the Mekong delta in a very authentic way. The food was amazing !! The boat trip is really worth it. You should spend minimum 2 nights there, as it’s a bit far from city.
