Facility was nice. Nice to see the upgrades. Our room didn't have a refrigerator or microwave and we needed a refrigerator for the baby's milk that we took so be sure to ask about that. I would go back again! We have been taking out family every year almost since they were little and now there grown with there own families.
WE STAYED AT THE CREST BECAUSE THERE WAS A HAWKEYE HOME FOOTBALL GAME IN IOWA CITY -- ABOUT 30 MILES AWAY. RATES IN IOWA CITY WERE $700 TO OVER $1500. IOWA CITY WAS OUR DESTINATION TOWN, HOWEVER, THE CREST WAS QUITE CLOSE ENOUGH. THE ACCOMMODATION WAS EXCELLENT AND BEING ABLE TO PARK WITHIN 10' OF THE ROOM WAS NICE. LIKEWISE OUR ROOM WAS VERY QUIET EVEN THOUGH I-80 IS NEARBY. WHEN WE CANNOT STAY IN IOWA CITY WITH FAMILY, WE'LL STAY AT THE CREST AGAIN.
I booked a room online through booking.com specifically for a pet friendly room. When I got there the woman at the desk told me I hadn't (I definitely had, I have the email that confirms it) and then charged me extra for having a pet. I was disappointed in the situation.
Our suite was very open and comfortable. Hotel was clean and remodeled recently. Nothing over the top but a great place to stay. Staff was friendly. Snacks & drinks in lobby for purchase.
I did not eat breakfast because we arrived very late and slept too long. The hotel was clean and quiet, despite being full. It felt like we were the only ones there.
This place is an older hotel but was a good time! The waterpark was open and warm. The continental breakfast was substantial. Our family had a great time!
