Grinnell is a very nice little town. It's a college town so it's busier during the school year. The hotel is in a very quiet location. It's one of the BEST hotels we've ever stayed in!

Grinnell was 40 minutes from Pella, where our event was, Not 20 minutes like the motel said so that was upsetting. Bad experience at the motel so we won’t be staying there again anyway. Grinnell has good restaurants though.
The room was clean, spacious and nicely decorated. The property is an old school and the owners did a great job of converting it to a hotel while managing keep the charm. Every staff member was friendly and helpful. The Periodic Table, the restaurant on site, was a nice place to have some drinks and a light meal. Although it was too cold to enjoy, the patio outside looked lovely.
Clean, comfy beds, effective a/c, microwave, nice pool, decent breakfast. Rooms freshly painted and simply decorated. Nothing fancy but everything worked well. Great value for money. Helpful people at the front desk. Vending machine in hotel and a 2 min walk to well stocked travel store. Would stay here again.

first of all, bed flame was fell off to the floor and
bed sheets were not cleaned when we got switched
to other room. very dirty and filthy.
breakfast was very bad and all facilities were dirty.

Absolutely amazing place in the middle of Iowa. Located in an old school, the hotel is unique and caught us by surprise - it is a really fun place , made with lots of love and with a great stuff. would love to visit again, and visiting this hotel is a reason enough to visit grinell with friends again.
We did not expect more than basic accommodations, and that is what we got in a convenient location for a college reunion. We appreciated the courtesy and attentiveness of the owner/staff.
We arrived later than expected but the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Changed our room from 2nd floor to 1St floor as we are senior citizens and no elevator was provided.
