Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast selection was good and the staff were always replenishing the food quickly. Very well located for Shepler’s ferry to Mackinaw Island, 6-7 minute walk. The hotel offered discounted ferry tickets and also a shuttle bus to and from the ferry if you preferred to ride.
There is a bonfire with s’mores at the lake edge at around 7 each night to end your day.

Very cute motel and we enjoyed it as a family very much. I liked the decorations and the bear cove theme.
St. Ignace is a beautiful town right on Lake Huron.
St. Ignace is a beautiful town right on Lake Huron. We enjoyed our stay very much, but it was too short, so we plan on returning. We want to visit the beaches and museums and explore at our leisure. We visited in October, so we avoided the summer crowds, and it was still great. Go visit!!

Loved being able to sit on the balcony and enjoy the view of Lake Huron. The ride at night down a dirt road to see the Mackinaw Bridge was quite pleasant. We didn’t eat in any local restaurants so am not able to recommend one in particular.

The bay was beautiful and we watched the ferrys go back and forth to the island. If you watch long enough, you might see a freighter come through. The restaurants we chose were excellent! One of them was " The Bouy" onwed by a veteran and their food and service was top notch. The other was, can"t remember the name, but it was a small place that makes smash burgers and man were they delicious!!

Joses Cantina had the most amazing mexican breakfast, very disappointed our trip was not long enough to enjoy a dinner there, it has to be amazing.
Try whitefish dip or go to Masseys and buy some, very tasty. We missed it but you can watch them clean fish at Masseys too.

I always enjoy the UP, the people are nice the air is clean and it's just a beautiful place. We went for the purpose of seeing Les Cheneaux Wooden Boat Show in Hessel, MI., which was awsome. What I didn't like were the prices of food, gas and souvenirs. Plus if you didn't pay cash you had an up charge of 3%.

Prices higher than 3 months earlier.
Prices higher than 3 months earlier. Gas dropped 15 cents a gallon as we left. Long waits for ferry rides to Island with 1 ferry company shutting down.
Motels and restaurants good. Nice music in the park.

The room had the essentials…firm bed, fluffy pillows, good heating and cooling system, microwave, fridge, tv, decent wifi, space to set up and access luggage, and a few hooks and surfaces for sorting stuff. Much better value than many nearby hotels. And all on the main floor with a parking spot right outside. Room was smallish but intelligently organized. Perfect for our one night stay after visiting Mackinac Island. However…
The care and attention that goes into the running of this hotel are clearly evident. I found the room delightful and comfortable. Enjoyed chatting wit7h the innkeeper at check-in and receiving dining recommendations.
Breakfast was ok. Hotel is very dated. First floor hallway has very musty smell in South end. Our room was also musty smelling. Liked that it was a good location. Mattress was very comfortable.
