I liked the staff was very friendly when we arrived. We never did get to eat the breakfast but that was because we slept passed the time, they were serving the meals. The room was very clean and when we asked for clean towels and our trash to be emptied the staff was always willing to help with what we needed. The one thing that made everyone happy was the indoor pool since the kids had a great time with that it deftly made this mom and dad enjoy our stay better.

Charleston had some interesting things to see.
Charleston had some interesting things to see. The mall was nice, the coliseum was beautiful and very big, the capital was certainly beautiful and worth seeing. The highway is located conveniently as well. There were a lot of restaurants and such, but there were definitely some bad parts about this area. There were a lot of LARGE potholes in the road, many areas were very run down and not very safe, and some neighborhoods weren’t somewhere I would feel comfortable staying at either. Staying here for a night was okay. I did enjoy some of my time here though. My favorite spots were the areas near the mall and the mall itself. We ate at a Hardee’s, McDoanld’s, and at the Outback which were all pretty good! Getting around Charleston is okay, it’s not overly complicated. If you’re not used to driving in a little bit of a larger area with added lanes and more traffic then definitely bring someone with you to help out. Parking garages in the area are confusing, and don’t use Spot Hero if you’re going to an event for parking. The garages don’t take your QR code and you’ll have to pay for the parking garage again. Don’t waste your money there. I would avoid Dunbar next time, and focus mainly on the Charleston area itself. Near the mall isn’t bad at all, it’s when you hit a little further out that things seemingly aren’t the best.

Since Charleston is my hometown I love it and miss it.
Since Charleston is my hometown I love it and miss it. It is amazing how many changes have taken place since 12/1996, when we moved away due to job changes. We have the most beautiful capital than any other state. Mountain views are beautiful during all 4 seasons.

I had to ask for coffee from a man vacuuming the hallway.
I had to ask for coffee from a man vacuuming the hallway. My bed was not made and trash in living quarter was not emptied. A woman had a barking dog and I asked the front desk if that was allowed and I was told that it was as long as they paid a fee for the dog. The bed was comfortable and the sheets and pillow cases were fresh and clean. The door jam going into the bathroom had a brown substance on it that I cleaned with wet tissues, not sure what it was, but I know what it looked like. If I could see it so should the employees who clean the room. I will never stay there again.

Well we drove around the riverfront are and downtown and liked it all. We wanted to visit the state museum but that will be for another time. We others for lunch at the Red Lobster at a shopping center. That was good.
We went to the Hale House downtown for dinner. It was elegant and delicious.
I am currently in my last month of college and I had to do a LabCorp clinical rotation in downtown Charleston. the location was the best thing about this because it was just a 5 minute drive.
the staff were super friendly! they helped in every way that they could and were very polite and nice.
the breakfast was also really good and there were a lot of great menu options!
the room was equipped with a microwave, fridge, iron and ironing board, coffee maker, a hair dryer, plenty of plug-ins, and a lot of USB ports.
Location good for walking downtown. Breakfast very good. Staff very good at desk and restaurant. Our room bathroom had a vent with lots of dust and tub grout needed cleaning, door was in awkward position. Difficulty finding a luggage cart. Our room was close to an elevator which happened not to be noisy but when asking for a quiet room , should not be placed near an elevator
Booking.com stole my money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I arrived at the hotel they had no open rooms and cancelled the reservation but Booking did not refund my money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am going to post everywhere to never use Booking.com as they will take your money and give you no place to stay! You guys absolutely suck!
My room was great, extremely clean, & very well appointed. The king size bed was very very comfortable with tasteful, beautiful linens that made it rather hard to get up and out of bed! I will be a return hotel guest often when I am in the Charleston WV area.
I have stayed at the Microtel in South Charleston previously and it’s easy access to and from the highway.
Only 10 minutes (give or take) from Laidley Field and once I looked up area places for food
Found that this location was quick access
Arrived later than planned, not easy to find. Exhausted.
Reception not friendly at all.
Room had a smell, not sure of what.
No coffee, machine for drinks out of stock. Sorry this is what I didn't like.
Nothing nice to say.
Staff was really friendly. The hotel owner sent a gift to our room for our granddaughters which we thought was very thoughtful. We loved the pool and the bird (Abby) in the lobby was a big hit with our granddaughters.
Bed was comfy and nice bathroom. Close to parking. Key cards work great. Near everything in Charleston. Ice machines down the hall. The room had two chairs and a desk to work on stuff at such as paperwork and such.
