It is a very beautiful place! We loved the waterfalls, lakes and the mountain areas! Uzungol was amazing. The cave was also very nice we loved the aya sofia and black sea, the parks for kids.
We had our own car so was really easy to travel around the city.

I'm really pleased I decided to go north and see Trabzon. Easy flight from/to Istanbul and the airport is only a few minutes away.
NB: if you're flying around Turkey your luggage allowance is likely to be quite a bit less than for your international flight into Turkey - depending on your ticket type.
The town itself is quite busy - in a good way - not overwhelming. Lovely central park square. Plenty of eateries, shops and market stalls.
I was only there 2 nights so booked an organised day trip to the Sumela monastery - be prepared for a bit of a walk, caves, the glass balcony, etc. It's worth doing a bit of comparison checking on who you go with: some tours are all in, some do not include entrance fees.
It's really beautiful and lush and totally different from Cappadocia and the south. Tried traditional rice pudding and the sweets made from boiled fruit.

Traffic in the city can get a bit overwhelming for tourists who rent a car, but people are very friendly and patient.
English is not spoken in most shops or restaurants, but people try help the best they can.

Trabzon is very nice place to visit. Cuisine and the vibe is lively. Some other tourist spots though are far from the center. But it is the travel experience that matters, so I really recommend to visit.
The location of the hotel is great, close to Meydan and to the most famous street in Trabzon and just 10-minute ride to the airport. The rooms are spatious and clean. Blankets are changed everyday and you have water and coffee/tea that you can enjoy with a view of the black sea. The breakfast is nice and variated. The staff are kind and polite. They speak good english (which is something rare in Trabzon). There is a market just in front of the hotel.. We are satisfied with our stay in this hotel and we highly recommend it.
The location was so near from the downtown, so really easy to reach out! the hotel has tour included so for me was very convenient! the tours were good . The room was spacious and clean! In front of the hotel there’s a construction for a nice plce at the beach, so the location will improve more. It has a good view and the staff was the best! they were so nice and friendly! I felt really confortable even more because I was a woman solo travel! I total recommend this hotel!

Hotel reception stuff was very helpful and welcoming, everything was spotless clean and restaurant had tasty dishes for a very affordable price. Modern rooms with everything you need and even though room was directly on the road and near the airport, it had great windows for noice isolation and it wasnt a problem.

Incredibly atmospheric and authentic place in Trabzon. It is here and on the adjacent streets that you can feel the real Trabzon. The hotel is located in ancient mansions and convey the real atmosphere of Turkey. Very pleasant welcome, caring staff, nice breakfast in the open space overlooking the Black Sea. The surrounding streets are an open-air museum!
The best hotel, with the best staff, the best location, inside the city center. In the morning we arrived at the hotel and we were also placed in a room, the problem of stopping the car was solved by ourselves. The room is also clean, pleasant environment, the second time when I have to stay in Trabzon I will definitely visit this pleasant staff again
The property is wonderful, and the location is amazing, the best part of this apartment is the owner, amazing man and very helpful. My children went alone to Trabzon, and he was like their father, really happy to have such people with Booking.com. He personally took my children from airport and dropped them back, plus he paid for car wash (rent car).

Hotel is located outside crowded city in the woods with great sea view. Staff and the owner were very very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very quiet, secure and clean. We left our money in the reception with full security. Very big rooms, it’s actually as big as as an apartment. If I had to visit Trabzon I’d go to Mina Hotel.

We stayed here for our first and last night in Trabzon, our second stay is better as there was no more misunderstanding during check in, and because the room was available we could do early check in. And we found a dolmus stop infront of the airport that will take us to the city center (no need of a trabzon card)
Breakfast is standard as everywhere in Turkey, the view from the breakfast restaurant is perfect.
Overall hotel is comfy, warm, the location is good, near the Trabzon Forum, and next to the hotel are groceries stores and small Turkish restaurants.
They upgraded me to the newest branch near Trabzon airport - Sulduz Hotel Apart.. A very new apartment, very big and spacious with everything included.. Breakfast was great, the owner even treated us like friends. Apartment was very clean.
The place is very clean, near to Trabzon Airport. I could move easily to and from the hotel to the city centre. Also the beach is just behind the hotel. The staff are very helpful and even helped me get a nice and cheap tour to Uzungul.
