The owners were very nice. I got cherries as gift from them. Also they changed date of my stay as the weather was not good for long walk (for pilgrim). Thank you so much

Valença is a lovely town half of which is still inside the fortifications. The restaurants and shops are friendly and accommodating the views from the fortress are beautiful. A word of "warning" the food is amazing and the portions HUGE!

Loads of shops selling linen, towels and leather handbags.
Loads of shops selling linen, towels and leather handbags. restaurants a bit pushy but all part of the experience. If staying in the Pousada, hold your breath as you drive through the gateway, very very slowly!
Well, the location is perfect, right on the Camino route and across the road from the historic, mediaeval fort/ walled city. The reception staff were so helpful and friendly, offering restaurant advice and even printing something I needed.
The room was very spacious, with a balcony and a wonderful bath to soak in( lovely toiletries provided too). The buffet breakfast was the best so far, with a wide range of hot and cold food choices. A very busy hotel, but obviously because it is so good.
I like the view from my window down on to the plaza and other places close to the hotel. The room was very spacious with lots of closet space for you to store your stuff. The guy at the desk gave a really good tip of walking over tot the castle that night and in the morning you could just walk the road to the bridge. I still walked the castle because I wanted to see it in the morning light without all the people.
We had one of the best rooms, upstairs with a large balcony overlooking the river and Tui. Large room with a wall of windows, excellent views. Very comfortable. Very good breakfast, very attentive staff.
Great to be inside the castle walls at night when everyone else has gone. Driving inside the castle to the hotel was fun, too.
The price for the room with breakfast was really amazing. It is true that the hotel has seen better days and some of the equipment is very old, but for a room with breakfast and a free swimming pool and free parking, walkable to the old fort village, the value for money is excellent.
Location was good, no breakfast was included but we were able to use the kitchen for boiling water to make our own coffee. For a 1 star Hotel the accommodation was very good. This is all one needs on a trip like the Camino. Room was clean and linen fresh.
Located in the heart of the citadel, the hotel is right on the camino. Reception was very pleasant and the room was excellent with lots of natural light. It was a short walk to the town square where there were several restaurants.
Simple, very clean, very comfortable, great location. Was a very welcome rest after a long day on the Camino, but would make a great stop for visiting Valença anytime. Nice facilities outside the rooms too.
The room was modern and comfortable, the dinner was very good as well as the breakfast, and the staff was very kind. Another plus is that the hotel is located a few meters from the entrance to the Old City.
Very central location in this very special place inside the fortress walls. Never been in such a hotel.
Everything you would expect is there.
Clean and friendly staff.
Recommended.
A perfect place for a night's stay before Valença. Ana has created a place that is incredibly welcoming. The pilgrim's dinner was very good and everything was just perfect!
