The hotel I keep coming back to from my very first arrival to Baleal years ago. Super lovely family business. In amazing location! Ocean is only a few steps away. Supermarket in front. Very comfortable rooms. I never looked for some other place to stay, as this one has all I need and it’s simply perfect! And the people, who run it, amazing! thank you for another great stay!

Great location and wonderful vibe, the staff were really friendly and would 'introduce' each newcomer to those already in the hostel, and it had a really inclusive and fun atmosphere, great for solo travellers like me. It felt more like a home than a hostel, good kitchen set up and comfy rooms. I was recommended this place by another traveller and it didn't disappoint!

Lovely, caring hosts. Our Suite was airy, light and very well-maintained. Fantastic location and views from our arched windows were amazing. Small beach in front of the hotel where you can watch the fishermen. Street parking.
Short walk (lots of rocks) to view the sunset then we strolled the cobbled streets and dinner at the Taberna do Ganhão. (April)

I could easily live here.
I could easily live here. The town is small and modern and not one of the historic venues that Porto or Lissabon offers but it has all the amenities that one can possibly look for. The relaxed surfing attitude and the pristine beaches make this a delight to visit. Our objective had just been to visit the beach as we reside in a land locked country and this place could not have been more perfect. The surf was a delight to watch and the air and beaches were clean. The people are friendly and the atmosphere was extremely relaxed.

I went to Baleal with the intention of surfing, and I could surf multiple times a day with some great waves. A week was too short. Keep in mind, I was in Baleal in January. The average air temp was 15c and the sea temp was 16.
It was quiet in the ocean and I could surf almost alone during the day. At the end of the day, after 4 PM the locals head into the water.
Perfect week in January for a surf-get-away.
I was told it is good and quiet until the end of April. It is too busy with surf camps /schools during summer.
Food tip: El Chilitio's! is 8 min a walk from the hostel. Great Mexican food and affordable.
Next to the hostel, there is a little supermarket. It is on the expensive side, but not too crazy.

Very nice place to spend one-two days in the complete calm without the sign of civilisation) Few cafes, restaurants, we found only one shop with pesto for 7.5 eur😬
If you’re going there by car it’s perfect, otherwise you need to have a taxi, never saw a public transport there.
In love with the dunes (wide line!), November waves and a bit melancholic mood.

Fo people who like to surf and love the ocean and steep cliffs this area is just perfect. And the food is also awesome but most of the time you need to make a reservation in the restaurants, if you don't like to wait for a table.

The beach and the water/view was fantastic...a piece of heaven. Baleal "island" is surrounded by cliffs and rocks but wonderful crashing waves. It is a beach area but has decent restaurants within a short walk. Get an apartment there with a view.
Maria is extremely friendly, professional and accommodating and goes above and beyond. She loaned me some items since my bag was delayed and is super responsive by message. A very nice and sufficient Breakfast of local bread and pastries, butter, ham and cheese, cold cereals, local coffee and tea. The room and bed is clean and comfortable. This is a nearly new building. There is a large secure courtyard with outdoor shower and a surfboard rack. I loved having the mini super below. It is 5 minute walk to the beaches.
Staying at the SurefNess Lodge was really amazing to us.
We stayed there for 2 nights, but we should have stayed more because: The atmosphere at the place was really family-like, Paula & Ilya (the hosts) were super friendly, always helpful for anything you need, from Surf lessons to restaurants recommendation and travel around the village.
The kitchen & saloon are well equipped, with everything you can imagine.
The location is great for those who like to surf at Baleal/Ferrel by foot.
The hotel provides easy parking in front and is very well located at walking distance to both Baleal beaches. The facilities are excellent and easy accessible to someone surfing within the area with direct access to rooms without passing through reception and dry towels provided. Breakfast is very good with plenty of options. Beaches nearby and unreal.
This apartment was a fantastic choice for Baleal! Everything we might need for our surf trip within walking distance. Different breaks, plenty of food, the market. João was awesome! Helped us out with a board and wetsuit rental. He was always available. Only good things to say, will definitely come back!
The location is perfect. Couldn’t have got closer to the beach! The staff/owners were very helpful and friendly, they had soft-top surfboards you could use and the breakfast was beautiful - a selection of everything - fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal, meats, cheese, bread and even hot pasteis de natas!
- great host, answers really quick and helps you with everything to have a nice holiday
- they clean the house everyday
- short distance walk to all Baleal Surfspots around
- nice coffee place just in front of the kitchen window (Hang Five)
What an amazing and cozy place to stay in Baleal! Friendly staff (thank you Adriana for the amazing breakfast!), a beautiful and clean room! A fabulous view from the rooftop! Also thank you Maria for the hospitality, for sure I will return!
Beautiful house, beautiful room. Great facilities and nice atmosphere. Walking distance from Baleal beach, lots of stuff to do also during the evenings - fussball, free longboards, surf gear. Complete package. Vanessa is a lovely host.
a great experience. although i traveled alone, i felt like i was at home with my friends. Luis is great! We surfed, we skated, we had dinner together! I recommend everyone to go to him if you are in Baleal, Peniche.
The location is just next to the beach.
A simple room with what is essential to stay a couple of nights.
Everything was very clean.
Very good shower (hot and powerfull).
The true atmosphere you expect to meet at a surf camp. The rooms were nice and clean, the ocean is 2 min walking. Luis is the greatest host, wish him the nicest guests:)
