Everything except the location which was a bit off the beaten track, which may had brought the price down a little because it cost 500P( with the usual negotiation) to get there, but it was good they have a 24 hr front desk or at least they waited till our arrival which was 2 hrs after what we 1st expected.✈️ delay. Bed was nice, especially the sheets, they must have a high thread count and we loved the colours of the sheets, matched the curtains, timber doors and furniture.

Tacloban is a major city with just about everything you'll need, but nothing really special other than MacArthur Leyte Landing Memorial National Park in nearby Palo. I heard there are a couple new swimming resorts but I didn't visit them. That said, you are in driving distance (1 to 5 hours) of really nice coastlines, waterfalls etc. in Samar (and probably Leyte).

The City of Tacloban is a pity. There is nothing perfect.
The City of Tacloban is a pity. There is nothing perfect.
They need at least 50 Years to bring it up to near Canadian/American standards. It's impossible to walk safely as you could be overrun, or trip over obstacles or holes on roads or site walks if there are any at all.
Blocked by parking cars or motorcycles. When you look over the roofs from your hotel room it looks like Bangladesh.
There are lots of eateries, but all pretty junky. And the food is a disaster.
You can get around with this Toysycles, but they will rip you off.
There is absolutely no beach access.
Avoid Tacloban all together.

People are very nice. Laid back. Not intense.
People are very nice. Laid back. Not intense. Our time is short and so we had no time to really explore. Sto Nino Cathedral is worth visiting.
We went to see the lighted San Juanico Bridge but after waiting for two hours, nothing happened. It was a waste of our time.
The airport could be improved. It was very hot at the waiting lounge. Toilet is okay.

Just like any other city in the Philippines.
Just like any other city in the Philippines. Crowded, Traffic, Noise, Pollution, Hot, Lots to do, Lots to see.
Oh Almost forgot this one. For some reason or another Tacloban still requires you to have a QR CODE to enter Robinson, and a few other places. When we asked the Police Guard why, the reply was expected. Because they tell me to do this...lol. Seriously though, this is whats so puzzling about the Philippines. Every BRGY, Island, or City is different when it comes to COVID. Mask on/Mask off, No QRC/YES QRC. SMH.
Just figured since its all one GOV, you would follow what they put out.
This is why its More Fun in Dah Philippines... P.S Its cleaner and less Dirt and Dust like DIRTYGUETE (Dumaguete). Such a Dirty, and Dusty City that one is...

it was my first trip anywhere and I would recommend the phillppines to anyone who likes beautiful places it blew my mind with the views especially once you get away from the big towns, the people are so friendly and willing to chat . I am planning to return again soon to see more of this beautiful country
When in Tacloban we always stay at XYZ for many reasons, but Jay, the manager and his staff are most friendly and care about your needs. The rooms are nice and the Beds are Wonderful. My wife and I had a disco in the Brgy and got little to no sleep. So the next morning we drove to XYZ, made a simple request for quite room and they delivered. Very quite, comfy and peaceful. Truly appreciate the complementary drinks while waiting in the lobby, and filling our request.
Food there is always good/nice. See you soon, Mr Woodyard
The unit was basically neat and tidy with water and slippers provided. The showers had digital heat control and by far the best we have had in the Philippines. The large TV was great and the bedrooms were a good size with comfortable beds and towels provided, the unit is close to the laundry and small food market and only 20 min walk to Robinsons Mall. (Only 7mins by tricycle). And just 15 mins at 5am to Tacloban airport in a van that our host Jessica helped arrange for us. Thankyou we made our early flight to Manila!
A key central location with easy access to the entire town. The Hotel is quiet and maintains personal privacy very well. It is located away from the hustle and bustle of the busy street. The room was reasonable in size, exceptionally clean, the bed was comfortable. The staff were communicative and eager to help when asked to do so. The fresh water dispenser, hot showers, and air-conditioning were all very welcome! There seem to be intermittent difficulties with the Wifi signal though.
Food in the hotel was amazing. The staff were very courteous, from the front desk, to maintenance, to the restaurant. The beds were clean and were comfortable. Wifi was strong in my room. The room had a smart TV and nice amenities.
The coffee lounge 😍 was amazing and had delicious food and friendly atmosphere and staff. The hotel staff was friendly and generous. You can store your bags there while waiting for the two pm check in. I would book here again.
The place is near Daniel Z. Romualdez Airport. It has free parking. At the back are a few cottages and a bar facing the sea. There is free drinking water station in every floor of the hotel, which is a big plus.
