Very quiet place but also very close to the Main Street. Nice breakfast options, Betsy and her staff were very friendly, free refill cold water. The rooms are really big, very clean and well equipped. We just had such good nights sleep as the bedroom itself doesn’t have a window, so no daylight which is quite exceptional in the Philippines, and no noise from the dogs or roosters! AC was super modern and quiet. We really loved our stay here!

Foreign tourist destination. The road leading to the beach has all the things one need to resupply and eat. There's a loud music playing even in the night. And there's a tourist extorsion booth (also called sudden environmental tax payment booth) located in this road. But sarcasm aside, it's a nice starting point for local attractions such as Kawasan falls, white beach and so on. Highly recommended.

It's definitely an area you'll want a motorbike for to make the most of your stay. Once you get out of town, the travel lightens up as you venture further south. We only had one full day to make the most of it and we were able to see two different waterfalls that were a little over 90 minutes away from Moalboal. We traveled here from Siargo Island, so the pace and hustle-culture of the locals was MUCH higher than we were used to. It's not a huge deal breaker, but hanging at White Beach turned into the same vendors coming by at least three times each within an hour span to ask us if we wanted the same thing they were pitching. Again, to be expected being in a more touristy area, but I give it a knock since for some that can be annoying. The main thing here was the waterfalls and snorkeling and those things were so worth it, so I'd say if you're a diver, down for snorkeling or up for some adventures with the waterfalls (i.e. jumps) than this place will give you all the great memories.

To get the best out of Moalboal you have to adjust to tropics-time and get up early; fantastic experiences you’ll remember forever, but a NORMAL day starts at 5am, an early one at 3am. Then an early supper while you watch the astonishing sunset from the hotel restaurant (the best in the town) at 5:30, and in bed for 9 or 10.

MoalBoal is a good mix of beach, swimming/diving, bars and laid back Philippino culture. You can eat Philippino, Greek, US, UK, and a variety of food. This is not a 5-star location for facilities, but it is outstanding value and welcoming for divers, and swimmers and has a relaxed vibe. There is a good mix of foreigners/visitors and Cebu locals... good for people-watching. I genuinely like this resort because I am not put off by the amenities. If you are looking for a 5-star experience... stay in a 5-star resort, not here. If you are looking for adventure from canyoneering (nearby) to diving or just swimming among shoals of fish and seeing turtles... then MoalBoal is for you.

There's a bit of everything here for most people, depending on what you're looking for. The foreigner area is a bit away (3 km) from the main highway. There are lots of restaurants and bars, dive shops and hostels there.
There are plenty of daytime activities, but you may need to sign up for a group van the day before. I did and recommend the big canyoneering trip where you jump off short cliffs into pools of clean water (15 m is the highest, most are like 3-8 meters). You'll need water shoes and a heavy duty waterproof bag for your phone (no ziploc bags, they won't work). You will be swimming in one of the cleanest rivers with lots of water falls (ends up at Kawasan Falls) and there's volcanic rock formations and great views.
I didn't do the whale shark viewing or the island jumping, but there are plenty of choices that are family friendly. At night time there's one or two smaller discos that are open late.
I wouldn't highly recommend this area for solo travelers, it's more for couples and families and groups of friends.
You should definitely rent a motorscooter if you want to see all the surrounding attractions on your own schedule, otherwise you'll be paying for a lot of trike rides or waiting on group vans.
Gas is pretty cheap, and I only spent a couple hundred pesos on gas over three days to see pretty much everything (even Osemena Peak). Scooter rental is 350-500 pesos per day.

I love Moalboal!
I love Moalboal! Amazing place for snorkelling, great outdoors activities - the canyoneering was one of my highlights of the Phillipines! Everyone should go to Moalboal while in the Phillipines if they can!
We liked everything about this property. It’s perfectly located between Moalboal and Badian. It’s perfect for relaxation because it’s situated away from the busy crowd by the beach. It has a direct access to the beach though we were not able to use it due to weather conditions. The host is very accommodating to our needs. The place is very spacious and clean. The place will take your stress away. Also, the food is so great! Our overall stay was worth our money. I must say, it’s the best value for money.
The Location of the accommodation was superb!! Close to the main happenings in Basdiot, close to panagsama Beach and just a short scooterride from White Beach.
The accommodation is clean and very cute. The beds in the private rooms are very comfortable and every room has an AC!
The breakfast was very tasty~
But the best part of La Casa Maria are Maria and Ching! They are amazing and cute and they have become my good friends after my stay there! I'll definitely come back again
Great aircon room. Very modern, clean and spacious. The room smelt beautiful and fresh when we arrived. The toilets were frequently cleaned and were never over occupied.
Breakfast isn’t included but there is lots of great places to eat so close by at really cheap prices, a 10% discount is offered by the hotel too.
The hotel is in the perfect location within the centre of the town. The beach is a 4 min walk away and all the bars and restaurants are on your doorstep.
Excellent stay! We spent 3 nights and everything was perfect. The house is cosy (wonderful hot shower!) and it is well located between Panagsama and White beach, perfect for getting to know the best of Moalboal in a peace environment but close to everything by a quick lift in motorbike (restos and nightlife included). Giuseppe and his partner know how to help you get to know the sorroundings and also if you need a motorbike, as was our case. Totally recommended!
Stayed in a few places around Moalboal and this is hands down my favorite one! Gorgeous views from a cozy bungalow and a beach access with guaranteed 3-5 turtle sightings daily! I even saw one almost 2meters big!
Food was also quite affordable and ok. You can rent snorkeling gear for 150php for the entire stay.
Location is not close to the center but they also offer motorbike rental and it was about 13 minutes to the central area of Panagsama so it was ok.
I love this resort so much. the location is great If you want to relax after the long day activities. Tricycle to white beach 15 min and panagsama beach less than 10 min. We book sea-view room for 5 nights. And the view from the room was marvellous. you can see the blue water just from your bed. I really love breakfast mix of both local and western . I love how they take care of the plants and so many beautiful flowers. Staff are very welcoming.
Our room was spacious, well-equipped and totally clean, we enjoyed our whole stay here. The AC and the wifi worked very well.
The location is also great, it's just 2-3 minutes walk from Moalboal main street and the beach.
The staff was very kind and helpful :) they helped a lot with their recommandations and information. Besides many tours can be booked in the hotel.
Great Place to stay. Clean and very nice and Helpful Staff. The owner takes his efforts to make u have a great stay. Jonathan supports the hotel and is a great guy to have a good conversation. He also gave as great advice about the in and outs of moalboal but also for Cebu and what to do - Cheers! Fully recommend that place! Clean and new renovated Rooms!
Loved how this private beach is next to the local Filipino beach. You'll see the real people who live here and they are happy! Different from other tourist beaches and parts of Moalboal. Quiet and nice to sit outside or on the beach. Great smoothies and lovely staff. You'll enjoy taking it slower here.
The place to be in Moalboal! They have a bar as well which has cheap drinks. Staff are super helpful and can organise trips and activities through them! Convenient location and seems to attract a good crowd of people as well so great for meeting people!
The location was exceptional. We could walk down to our own private beach and swim with turtles and fishes without any crowds.
The property had snorkel gear for cheap hire and also mopeds for hire to get you to panagsama beach.
Rooms are new so they haven't been overused yet. Close to Moalboal and the main road to other locations. On site scooter rental. It is not in Panagsama 'beach' area so it's quiet at night. Terrace with seating outside the room.
Great little hotel that is a stones throw from the beach, bars and restaurants. Will it is close it still maintains its peaceful ambience. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Great pool area. The restaurant was great.
Great location, close to the main hub and beach of Moalboal, but not too loud! Breakfast was tasty. Cheap rum and cokes throughout the evening. JJ was really friendly and helpful, made us feel really comfortable.
Good value for money for the bunk bed and great breakfast. Good location to town center, white beach and sardines run sites. The hostel owner and the staffs are great!!
