The motel unit was absolutely clean and welcoming.
The motel unit was absolutely clean and welcoming. Had everything we needed. The staff were super helpful and knowledgeable.
The wifi worked better outside the unit and closer to reception/cafe area, good excise for a coffee, but it did not worry us because we wanted a break from it all. It worked well when we needed it.

Our message asking for a meal did not get through - so that was a glitch, but the owners made us one anyway and it was delicious. We did not swin as there was no need. It was a school pool, available if we wantde to use it. The room was comfortable and well equipped if you were self catering. Lovely owners.

Enjoyed my stay here.
Enjoyed my stay here. So easy and quick as our booking was a last minute one due to road closure. Welcomed by the host Ash and shown to our pre warmed room which was fantastic. Great place to stay. Would visit again 👍
Also, its best to take food with you to cook as not many places open during winter.

Beautiful forest area with a walk behind the school. About 15 minutes from the nearest shop which is fine if you are organised. Maruia does operate a basic cafe in the warmer months. Ideal place to stop at for one night. No need to travel off the main rd to find it.
