Leigh itself is more like a village than a town, with one shop, one (very good) take-away and one pub. As long as you have a car, this is not a problem because there are plenty of places of interest a short car ride away.

Leigh is a place you can find different options.

Leigh is a place you can find different options. They campervan parking area, cottages or regular rooms to stay as long as you want. It is very close to attractions such as beaches, some short walks and old school town life. You should go and stay one or two nights at lest for a weekend.

Not too much in Leigh itself but 5 minutes from Goat island...

Not too much in Leigh itself but 5 minutes from Goat island which was a highlight. Also Matheson bay was very nice and picturesque. We ate from a gluten free Italian caravan which parks up in Leigh once a week but our second option would have been takeaways or the pub. Less than 10minutes before leigh at Ti point is a reptile park.

Leigh is a beautiful place. It’s save, clean and friendly. There are great beaches and walks. The local pub, which does food, run by the very friendly Richard is a must and the local store has delicious ice creams.

Stayed in Leigh for the weekend with family.

Stayed in Leigh for the weekend with family. Even though we were at separate accommodation we were still in walking distance to each other, the wharf and the store. A short drive from Matakana and a happy place to stay for a day drip to Goat Island and Pakiri Beach.
