Traditional hotel En route to West Coast after flying in to Christchurch in mid afternoon. Perfect for setting out over Arthur’s Pass next morning. Excellent, friendly staff in hub of Darfield with sports bar and restaurant ( well cooked food). Will probably stop there again later on our trip.

Rural setting. Peace and quiet.First appearance deceptive - looks a bit run -down, but has all the basic facilities one needs for a stopover. Full kitchen in the studio , so could prepare a decent meal.
What an amazing unit! We stopped over for one night's accommodation & it turned out to be one of our highlights. The rooms were immaculate & decorated to perfection.
The place was clean, spacious & had all the comforts of home.
A great place to stay - would do it again & highly recommend to others.

We liked the proximity to the main highway, although we didn't need to go out for food, we came back through Darfield on our return from the West Coast and found a wonderful bakery in the town centre.

The people in all businesses we visited. stayed at, dined at or simply browsed in were all very friendly and helpful where possible. Would highly recommend a break in anyone's journey at Darfeild would be relaxing, away from the busy busstle of the busy Christchurch City.

We were there for a particular event. It is a small town but has most things any traveller would need. We had excellent meals both at the Hotel and a small restaurant and shopped at the supermarket. There is also an excellent little bakery.

We live 2 hours away on the west coast and had appointments in Rolleston so it suited us to be there. we ate with family at Rolleston and spent all our time elsewhere so questions irrelevant.
