Breakfast was good, nothing special but a typical Norwegian hotel breakfast.
Scottish decor was interesting in the reception area.

Phillipshaugen is one of those magic places you should not miss out.
We stayed in the spacious cottage, which provided ample space to dry out wet motorcycle gear.
A fully equipped kitchen and other amenities made this stay worth noting.
The scenery at Philipshaugen is magic and anyone staying there should take time to just 'watch the paint dry' outside...

Pretty views of the surrounding mountains. However the entire shoreline of the fjord is taken up by industrial plants and therefore you can see nothing but factories and can't see the shore unless you walk about 1.5 hours. Bear in mind this point is just on a roadside and it is right next to the industrial part still so smells quite polluted.
Pretty river which you can get to via the steps next to the bridge with a tiny beach to rest at.
Public transport links are good.
Supermarkets and cafe good.
Not much to do in area if you don't have a car, but there is a small cinema and places for coffee. Coffee very good at the kafé on the corner opposite the petrol station.
Really nice hotel, deep in the woods, not actually deep, just about off the main road (well the moring i got greeted by a couple of deers!)
Really big room with kitchenette, comfy bed, excellent sleep quality.
And really nice host!
Room was clean and comfortable, but somewhat outdated. The hotel is in an amazing location, loved the views of the surrounding mountains and the fjord.
