Cleanliness: The rooms were generally clean, although there was some dust here and there. We understand that this cannot always be perfect.
Excellent service: We would like to give a special mention to the girl with light brown hair. Her helpfulness and friendliness made our stay much more enjoyable. The woman who cleared the tables and served from morning to evening also deserves a big thumbs up. She did much more than the other kitchen/bar staff.
Location is exceptionally beautiful, this hotel is perfectly located, you can drive anywhere within a 1.5 hour drive.

The house is nicely located, nearby Jølster lake and not too far from Bøyabreen glacier. It has nice views from the sundeck over the mountains. The sauna is beautiful. The beds were good and the house was clean. There is a jacuzzi, right on the porch, which you can rent for a surcharge.

Awesome host in a stunning location, surrounded by mountains and a lake. We had a great time on the lake with the rental kayaks. Price for the room and the kayaks were amazing. Thank you for the memories!

Our experience at the Fjærland Fjordstove Hotel was lovely. The quiet village, beautifully restored and maintained hotel, wonderful staff, exceptional dining and the views to knock your socks off! It was our 20th anniversary and it was a magical time.
In reading other reviews there is the mention of the high cost of the accommodation and food and we agree but the cost was easily understandable as the Fjaerland reaches for the highest quality for its guests. So, it is our recommendation to get past the cost and you will not be disappointed:)

The location of this property is excellent, just by a stunning lake, where we swam and fished every day, and a decent drive from some of the nicest scenery in Norway. There are seats throughout the extensive back garden where you can enjoy the view and a barbecue is provided. The house is pretty basic but has all you need.
The owner and his helper, Ahmed and Kerri, are incredibly nice and helpful and given they live in the house will come down within minutes to fix any problems.

Wonderful location with magnificent waterfall, log cabins on property. Beautiful access to lake to visit Astruptunet and Alhus and see the home and paintings of Nikolai Astrup. Easy to get around with a car but might be more of an effort by bus! Swimming in the glacial lake worth it - but takes your breath away with beauty and cold!
Location is a little remote but in a stunning area. Property is old but charming, I suspect it was a farm once. We were warmly welcomed by Linda our host who gave us info on the local area and made a reservation for us for dinner at a local hotel. Room and bathroom were cosy but had everything we needed for our overnight stay. Comfy bed and hot shower. We went back through the tunnel the next morning & after walking down to the glacier had breakfast at the cafe. Worth doing.
The hotel offered great activities including canoeing and kayaking at a reasonable rate. Additionally there was hottub for a fee (inland) and a fire pit (at the fjord). There was also a kitchen, which is helpful bc not too many places to eat in the area.
What I really liked about the location was how non-touristy the area was. When we canoed, we had the entire fjord to ourselves and the area is actually more beautiful than towns like Flam and Loen which are cruise ports.
Absolute charming hotel with everything you need and beyond. Using the jacuzzi after a long hike was a welcome relief and rounded off our evening wonderfully. Everything was clean, our room was really cute and offered lovely views of the lake.
A very nice place, very peaceful nature, sympatic staff, very good facilities. Nice comunication. I recomend to everybody who wants to visit Lunde, glaciar, who wants to swim, visit Norwegien climatic museum. Thank you very much.
