The cute hut is on top of a hill in Kinsarvik. It’s small but you have everything you need and the owner Lin and her family are very helpful. She told us about few trails and places we could visit. Will definitely stay here when I visit hardanger..

In such a place even the rains seem lovely. Amazing picturesque location of a beautiful typical Norwegian house with a beautiful view from the window and terrace. Supersympathetic and friendly people and incredibly delicious food. We recommend to anyone who appreciates peace and quiet, the raw beauty of Norway and local flavors. We will definitely come back here!
It was a very nice way towards the place we stayed.
It was a very nice way towards the place we stayed. It was great seeing all those famous fruit gardens of Hardanger. It wasn't easy finding the place, though, as we didn't get at first that the whole village is called Lofthus.
At the foot of the mountain by the road there was a very nice little French looking stone church with a cemetery. It was nice visiting it, taking pictures there and feeling the serene atmosphere.

The whole area od Hardangerfjord is just beautiful.
The whole area od Hardangerfjord is just beautiful. And Lofthus is one of places which can serve as your base camp. From here you can manage a trip to Trolltunga, to many waterfalls, to Monks’ Steps etc. If you are a nature lover, you can spend weeks here :)
I loved the view most of all. And the spa, pool, kids play room, squash, bar and our room with a bathtub. It was so amazing. And just walking around in the hotel itself is like walking in a museum or a palace. There are so many paintings, and beautiful areas to see. Plus the history of Edvard Grieg and this hotel is so amazing!
I recommend trying the ciders and the fruit from this location too. Its so nice! I just love being there and am definitely coming back soon.
Swimming pool area was amazing, and actually all the outside area of the hotel. It was really nice to stay in such a beautiful, cozy and quite royal hotel.

Best place to recover after Trolltunga hike. Historic hotel in Norway. Nice spa with an adults only area and free rowing boat. Best breakfast ever included in the price.
