The view of the fjord is amazing in a quiet little town. Although at the end of the season, the staff were excellent and very informative about Norway and places to visit. The breakfast was good and offered everything we needed. We enjoyed a very large homemade pizza for supper at the hotel. This is a perfect stopover where you can visit Balestrand to the left and then head to Bergen to the right.

Apartment is equipped sufficiently and we do appreciate the complimentary coffee and oil and cooking spices & salt. Relatively easy to find after coming by the Lavik-Oppedal ferry.

I totally agree this is a hidden gem! The people from Alværa Missionssenter are really really friendly! There was so much to play with for the kids, table tennis, volleybal, frisbee, soccer and we could use the fishing rods as well. After a lucky catch the super friendly and good cook Jens made fish cakes as an extra for dinner, so great! They picked us up form the ferry in Lavik and brought us back as well which was excellent service. And making a fire at the fjord in the evening was the cherry on the pie, thank you very much for such a lovely stay!
P.S. The rooms are indeed very basic but they have all you need, really suitable for a stay with children as well!
Very close to the ferry. Noise from traffic can be disturbing. Grocery store has food If you get denied service from the hotel, which we did, because we had made a mistake in our booking. Lavik has no attractions But the hotel may offer boat or cycle for you.

This comfortable hotel is located right beside the fjord. There are good views from the breakfast room and an extensive outdoor garden terrace where you can have meals. I enjoyed a nice big comfortable bed and good sized bathroom. The managers are very hospitable and helpful, and offer tourist information about the area.
We had a lovely stay: it felt like home after 3 days. Complete renovated house with all facilities, lots of space, brilliant terrace and friendly hosts. The restaurant at Lavik fjord hotel from the hosts is also recommended!
