Beautiful hotel within walking distance of the Loen Skylift (can't miss!). The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially in the restaurants. We had the 3 course chef's menu for dinner and it was the best meal we had in Scandinavia! Our server, Tomas, explained the creative dishes perfectly and helped us select wine from a wonderful and extensive wine list. Hotel Alexandra provided us great stay in Loen!
We didn’t actually get to stay here because despite booking for 3 nights 9 months ago the hotel waited until the day before to cancel our booking. They did transfer us to their Geiranger hotel which was nice but completely out of the way for the rest of our itinerary so we stayed one night and asked for a refund for the other two nights. They said a refund would have to come via Booking.com but so far no response. 😡
A superb place to discover Norway, with all facilities in the house, a free access to the canoë below to enjoy the beautiful Hornindal lake and a nice barbecue patio. This house has a lot of charm, without direct neighborhood and is very peaceful. And the host is very sympathic. The perfect place to enjoy the beautiful nature of Norway all around (mountains, glaciers, lakes, waterfalls)
Friendly staff. Decent standard hotel. Good stop for 1 or 2 nights. Nothing outstanding nothing realy bad. Clean. Good standard breakfast with hot/cold food. Woulnt hassitate to book again. Good value for money.
Beautiful location by a lakeside. The hotel was simple and neat, the breakfast room had a wonderful view to the morning lake. Breakfast selection was nice.
