As we arrived in 1st January and everything was closed, we found frozen pizza in the gas station. The owner allowed us to go to the other aparment and use oven, because we did not have it.
In our aparment we liked bathroom and bed.

Nice decent room, bit older but everything worked perfectly, kitchen fully equipped. For us excellent location, free parking. Personal was nice. for us definitely worth it!
Overlooking the lake of Eidfjordvatnet, this traditional timber-clad property is just 12 km from the spectacular Vøringsfossen waterfall.

Style style style. It's a house from the mid 19th century. Well-preserved, and with extravagant decoration. We weren't the only ones taking pictures of the halls and rooms.

Eidfjord is a very practical location since from there is access to many activities and visits that I would recommend such as Vøringsfossen, Kjeåsen, Norsk Natursenter - Hardanger and a lot of sensational excursions. Apart from that you have Hardangerfjord, the Ulvik/Voss area, Hardangervidda just a few kilometers away by car.
And the town is small, quiet and charming.

Eidfjors is an idyllic place with many things to do or enjoy. As main attractions you have the waterfall of Vøringsfossen, the norwegian nature center museum and the farms and views of Kjeåsen. Apart from that, other spectacular waterfalls and fantastic hikes. It is also a good place to relax and do nothing.

There is some great hiking in the area.
There is some great hiking in the area. We took the trail to the foot of Voringsfossen waterfall, which gave a different perspective from the viewpoints along the road. The hike to Kjeasen mountain farm is a lot of fun, with a few scrambles on the way up. This is quite steep and slippy in places so best done on a dry day. The views from the top are stunning.
We also did a day trip to Bergen from Eidfjord, if you have a car it is doable to go there and back in a day.
Eidfjord itself is very small and easy to get around. We mainly ate in our hotel (Eidfjord Fjell and Fjord Hotel) which was very nice to go for dinner.
Location is lovely unless there is a huge cruise ship in the harbour just opposite the hotel building that totally blocks the view. It was like that when we arrived but fortunately it was gone in the evening. I suppose that it happens quite often as it is a popular spot for the cruises. From the breakfast room you get a nice view of the fjord. We enjoyed that.
Friendly, helpful staff – felt more like a family than a hotel. Nice breakfast with freshly cooked omelettes. Comfortable, spacious, modern hotel room. Only 9 rooms on the property; all on the ground floor. Comfortable lounge area with free tea. The owners run an adventure travel company (kayaking, biking, etc.) as well.
Fantastic breakfast, excellent dinner, amazing surroundings, very attentive stuff, polite and hospitable. simple well furnished comfortable room, very clean . A beautiful dining room, and beautiful lounges. The hotel is very clean. The staff all speak well English so the communication waseasy.
The location of the house is magnificent between the mountains. The house is very comfortable and clean, we had everything we needed. Gina is very, very kind and helpful.
Everything was perfect, it was one of our best stay ever! I really hope to visit the lovely house and Øvre Eidfjord again!
We loved the dinning room and the views from there. The location is great if you are exploring Norway. The staff member was very helpful. He helped us plan our day trip as our initial plans did not work out due to bad weather. The next day he even gave us some more pointers.
The location of this hotel is utterly spectacular. You know your hotel is in a good spot when the hotel itself is a magnet for gigantic tour buses. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is outstanding, and the hotel has a cool 19th-century vibe.
Both dinner and breakfast were excellent. The hotel is being preserved as best as it can to reflect it's heritage. But the bedrooms themselves have been brought right up to date to make them very comfortable. A charming old style hotel.
Great location, very close to the Hardangerfjord and the Voringfossen waterfall. The facilities were very clean and the room was very cozy, and the staff was attentive too. Nice breakfast to start the day.
Incredible views - wonderful hike down to the waterfalls. We had a good breakfast and dinner here. This is a charming old hotel with great seating areas to share times with friends
