It is a wonderful place to relax and switch off. Very lovingly designed. The pool is small but perfectly adequate for cooling off. The waitress Queen was the best waitress you can imagine.

Suitable for one or maybe two nights.
Suitable for one or maybe two nights. There's a shop, petrol station, bakery and lots of parking as well as the hotel and restaurant. Nice outdoor areas and a camp site and the sunsets were great! Food and drinks are well priced at around 200NAD for a meal, 22NAD for a beer and 150NAD for a bottle of wine. Gifts in the shop are slightly more expensive than we saw elsewhere but not loads. Wooden bowls for 195NAD was the same as in the market in Windhoek. There is a reserve and they have 5 cheetahs who are cared for as they were taken in as cubs due to circumstances. Well cared for and seeminly content. Game drive to visit them was around 370NAD each.

We stayed at Agama Lodge for 3 nights and it was a very pleasant and enjoyable stay. The luxury room was superb, aircon most wellcome, the food was good and the pool was a gift from heaven.
We enjoyed the delicious food. The staff was friendly, always available and very friendly. The sundowner drive was the highlight. We can only but highly recommend Agama Lodge to anyone travelling to Sossusvlei.

Solitaire is just the general area near the Sossusvlei dune area of Namib-naukluft National Park. We didn't spend much time there but it's a beautiful area but it's very hot this time of year (37-41°C during the day)

Solitaire has the famous cafe, with coffee and apple pie.
Solitaire has the famous cafe, with coffee and apple pie. There is also a lodge at Solitaire same owner as the Solitaire Farm. There is a petrol station, (absolutely essential) and a small supply shop with a few basics, but no fresh products. A very limited supply of pharmaceutical products. The Road to Solitaire is pretty good (dirt) but the road after Solitaire, to the dunes, is pretty rough, and not recommended at night. You need to go between 60 - 80 kilometres an hour and often use 4 wheel drive.

Solitaire was our stop over on the way to Dune 45.
Solitaire was our stop over on the way to Dune 45. We had great fun driving off road and watching the landscape ever so slightly changing.
Solitaire is the place to get fuel for the 4 x 4 and the soul. Huge apple pie slices fresh out of the oven and delicious hot coffee. The slow pace of Solitaire adds to the atmosphere and landscape, there is no rush and one can check out the rusted cars in between the sand and the windmill.
Solitaire Desert Farm is truly a special place. Turning away from the main gravel road to the lodge is an experience by itself: a 7km-sandy way, surrounded by wildlife, guides you to an isolated location in the middle of nature, savanna plain and hills. The rooms are big and have all basic comfort. At night, the view of the sky and stars from the room terrace are absolutely breathtaking. All of the staff are very nice, friendly and warm people. And the food is excellent, as is the setting for dinner. This is Namibia at its best !!!
Outstanding and rare to find. I am travelling the world and this was definitely one of the best hotel stays! It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. We were treated like VIPS. The place is a paradise and amazing with stunning views. The staff is very friendly, helpful and attentive. The chalets are big and beautifully decorated. The highlight is the sky bed where you can watch the stars. The location was great! The food was delicious - Dinner was a three course meal. This place is definitely 5 star.
We will definitely come back.
Nestled amidst one of the most beautiful regions of Namibia, this property gives absolute value for money and the landscape from the hotel itself is fabulous!! The people made sure the stay was pleasant .. their card machine was not working and they trusted me to reach Walvis and pay at their hotel there.. TRUST... I appreciate them for this and look forward to staying with them again!!
My stay was short, but I am glad I decided to go there and sleep in this well-equipped and luxurious tent. Bed was very comfortable, there was hot water in shower, everything was so clean... The staff of the place is probably the most helpful, friendly and nice in whole Namibia. Dinner (which is served in a nearby hotel complex) was fantastic!
The comfort of the rooms and the friendly staff. Remember that this is basically budget accommodation in a vast, desolate area where other facilities charge 10 to 20 times what Solitaire Lodge charges. The value for money was outstanding. The beds are extremely comfortable and the bathrooms very up-to-date
I was in the hotel for the second time after 2017. the hotel is stil very nice clean and well maintained. very good food and the landscape is fantastic
Nice pool to cool down as well
We will be back
Information for all campers: To get to the reception please drive through till the end of the road after passing the gate ;)
Everything was nice...we had a beautiful time in Solitaire
Dinner was great, staff were friendly, comfortable rooms with balconies to sit and watch the sun rise and set over the desert. Great activities on offer conveniently from the hotel.
The lodge is well-located near Solitaire and Sesriem. The views from the room were incredible and the staff were so nice. Thank you for a great last night in Namibia!
