The hotel was nice and had an onsen bath on the top floor. It's right across from the train station. There's a Tully's on the ground floor with plenty of seating and fairly decent coffee. There's also a FamilyMart. Plenty of restaurants nearby and lots of people who look like they're starting the 88 temple pilgrimage. While the large groups made me think it would be crowded, it was not.

Such a hlpful place to start our time in Shikoku and the information centre was beyond brilliant - even above the standard of the other cities which have also proven to be so helpful.
Great place to start our Shikou 88 pilgrimage and we rather regretted cutting our nights from 5 to 3 so that we could also visit Naoshima.

Tokushima has a lot to offer those who want to get off the beaten track. To enjoy what Tokushima has to offer it helps to have a hire car - great food, very friendly people and an interesting view of Japanese life. Best for those who want to dig a bit deeper - it was our second trip to Japan.
Great restaurants near JR Station
Oysters and whirlpools at Naruto, mega donkey store, cable car, awesome food, round 1, aeon store and just hanging with locals. Lots more to do if you look. Not Japan’s most beautiful city, but it is authentic.

At the time of booking, there was only twin bed smoking room available for two people, so we booked it anyway even we don’t smoke. The room had air-filer system that was running constantly, so there was no smell!! The room was big. It was a bit old style but very clean and the bed was comfortable!

Tokushima is a very liveable city and easily reached from Osaka by bus over the two bridges and across Awaji island. A beautiful trip. The city centre has improved tremendously and the river walk, with the marina, is well worth a couple of hours. It is a good base to visit Hiwasa and Yakuoji temple, as well as the turtle centre. Also handy for a day trip to Takamatsu and the unmissable Ritsurin garden. I highly recommend the coffee house there for old-fashioned luxury and service.
We loved our stay! The apartment is very clean, bright and comfortable. Shin-san and his wife were wonderful hosts and took care of us above and beyond. The apartment is an easy walk to grocery, some restaurants, and the train. It is also not far from many interesting things to do in Tokushima City. We enjoyed walking to the central area around the main station and Awaodori Kaikan. The breakfast in the coffee shop downstairs was great every day. We would absolutely stay there again!
The place is in a conveniently located part of town near the station, mall, riverside and nightlife district.
The room itself was a standard business hotel room for that price range. The bed was weirdly soft, though. Not a bad thing though.
The staff were nice and the shared space had a nice vibe - a shame my stay was too brief to really enjoy it. I wanted that breakfast... Damn ferry...
Also they let me keep my bike on the first floor, cool!
The host was amiable and accommodating. He checked up on me occasionally (but not in an intrusive manner) to see if I needed anything. The house has a modern Japanese aesthetic, with a fully functional kitchen, a bar-type dining space (works as an office space too), a living room that can be converted to a bedroom (like what I did), and a bath that feels very homely but has a hotel-quality.

This was a perfect business hotel! It is not a luxurious vacation stay but the hard working and polite staff made sure this hotel is clean, comfortable, and stocked with good basic amenities. It is conveniently located next to many restaurants and the University. Staff is friendly, helpful, kind, and readily available. I was very pleased with my stay and it was excellent for the value.
The Hotel Sunshine in Tokushima is a good quality Hotel, in a good location, ample parking and good value for money.
The friendly staff were very helpful, easy fast check-in, the rooms were comfortable, good lighting and very clean. The Hotel is suitable for everyone from family groups to business people.
I like a lot the reception's hospitality and was willing help in English and in Japanese explaining every detail. Also it was very clean and they gave you complimentary bottle of water every day.
The location is perfect because you were near everything in the center of Tokushima.
Super clean and great facility. Location is about 15min walk from Tokushima st. 5min walk to the Bizan ropeway, and 5min walking distance to the nearest seven eleven. Check in is very smooth, room is clean and cozy, bathroom is tidy with fresh towels.
The room was way more spacious than I expected (Japanese hotel rooms are often very small) and there was a free soup machine. You could get some beef soup, corn soup and cream chowder soup for free! There was also a microwave on my floor.
Can't beat this price quality ratio. Honestly wondering how it's this good for the money! Don't expect a 5-star hotel, but everything is clean, well managed and staff is extremely helpful. Free breakfast is the cherry on top!
It is in a good location for business and sightseeing because the bus terminal is in front of the hotel. A convenience store is on the first floor, which helps you grab some snacks.
Spacious rooms with a big window facing the river. They also offered free parking. The hotel was also right across from a Lawsons. Very comfortable stay.
