Hotel Nikko Osaka, hotel in Osaka

Hotel Nikko Osaka is directly connected to Shinsaibashi Subway Station. It is centrally located within easy access to shopping areas, restaurants and the Dotonbori area.

Location, location, location. The hotel is situated above the Osaka metro station (Shinsaibashi) and in the centre of excellent food and shopping places (low & high). As I was traveling alone, I wanted to stay in a hotel that was central and easy to walk everywhere and Nikko is the perfect hotel. It may be a little dated, but overall it is well maintained, clean and the room was big enough and comfortable. Definitely looking to stay here again when I come to Osaka.

Nice enough hotel. But the Japanese style double room was too small. We paid to upgrade to a triple room so that we could store our cases and have a bit more space .We also paid in advance for breakfast but I would advise against it . It was awful . We stayed in 6 other hotels in Japan all had buffet breakfasts this one is preset food served on tray. It is presented beautifully but is absolutely awful lukewarm, omelette not cooked. One slice of orange and one grape .

FAQs about hotels in Osaka

A Stronghold of Japanese Culture

At the meeting point of river and sea, huge Osaka combines forward-thinking development and sure-footed tradition. This is symbolised in its temple-like, 16th century castle, guarded by ramparts and enlivened by vibrant spring cherry blossom. Dominating the surrounding skyline is Osaka Business Park, a reminder of the city’s strong role in the Japanese economy.

However, the most striking skyscraper is the Umeda Sky Building - 2 towers connected by a rooftop terrace offering far-reaching views. The nearby Osaka and Umeda train stations are linked by underground shopping centres, while the shops of Shinsaibashi’s America Village appeal to a younger crowd. Dōtonbori’s neon lights promote more shops, as well as restaurants considered the best in Osaka. In a city touted as Japan’s culinary capital, that’s quite an accolade.

The Tsūtenkaku tower overlooks Tennōji Park, home of the Osaka Municipal Museum of Art. Another nearby park houses Shitennō-ji, one of Japan’s oldest Buddhist temples.

The Kyocera Dome Osaka is a shrine of baseball, and more thrills are at waterfront Universal Studios Japan, the country’s 2nd largest theme park. Also by the sea is Kansai International Airport, on its own artificial island.

The capsule hotel was invented in Osaka, and alongside this type of accommodation, Booking.com also offers luxury hotels with pools, cheap hostels and traditional ryokans.

Dynamic, fresh and sophisticated city. Very well put together with train and subway going everywhere you need ! Locals are very friendly, we got helped by an old man because we were lost and he showed us the way to the subway, the system about Icoca card and was truely an amazing person ! He stayed with us at least 15min, showing us around the station. I will never forget him ! Overall, Osaka exceeded my expectation and we were very happy to walk around the city. The hotel location is great. You are right across the street from two large department stores and designer brands like LV. There is a metro station in the basement as well as some restaurants and a boutique. It's a couple of blocks from Shinasaibashi Dori and about a 12 minute walk to Dotonburi. Great location in the middle of Dotonbori, lots of shops, bars and restaurants in the area. Also located in between Namba and Nippombashi stations, which both have various lines serving them. Check in was seamless and the staff member was really friendly and helpful - also provided extra pillows which we had asked for. Room was clean and decent sized by Japanese standards. Pretty modern hotel with sufficient power points and USB charging ports. Overall, good value for what you get, especially if looking to stay around Dotonbori.

Very nice staff. Super helpful! Location is great if you want to go shopping/eating. On foot it takes you about 10 minutes from Namba and you are right in Denden, close to Nipponbashi, Shinsekai and Dotonbori. Size of the room was on par with what I am used with regular Hotels in Japan. It and the bathroom is small. If you are traveling with a partner - your lugage will probably fill the entire room. But this is pretty normal for Japan. No negative, just wanted to let you know and be prepared.

The location was great with a convenient store right round the corner. There were also restaurants around the area. The beds were comfy and we had a good rest at FL Dotonbori. It is also just right next to the Kinentsu Nippombashi station which is 1 stop away from Namba, and also walking distance to shinsabashi. They had breakfast available every morning which took the stress of finding a breakfast location away. Would definitely book this hotel again when i'm back at Osaka.

Like most APA hotels, this one is well situated, 1 stop away from Shinsaibashi, two stops away from Namba Stn (Dotonbori), hence it was easy to navigate various places. It was a perfect base for my Osaka itinerary. Take exit 18 and it will lead u straight to the 1st floor/reception of the hotel, or the 2nd floor (Family Mart). 7-11 is just on the corner (accessible via exit 9) and this hotel is also fronting Semba Center, would definitely stay here again in the future.

5 mins walk to Namba Station. Stone’s throw away to the happening Dotonbori area. Family mart is very nearby. So many eateries and restaurants around. Staff were friendly and approachable. They have a corner where you can get free ice cream, soft drinks, coffee and beer from 3-9pm; free cup noodles from 8.30-9pm. Fantastic for kids! Room was small, as are other hotels here in Japan but no problem for us as a couple.

Very attentive and helpful staff, grand hotel atmosphere, old-fashioned in a good way. The quietest night sleep i ever had in a japanese hotel, no trains, no busy street, good noise insulation. Comfortable beds and especially pillows which are often too hard for me in Japan. Distance to the Osaka Loop Line is actually pretty short, Sakuranomiya station has just two tracks, no wandering around inside the station.

Lovely in hotel in a good location. Very close walk to nearby subway stations, and about a 30 minute walk to Dotonbori. The rooms are well equipped, though a bit small, even for Japan. The onsen off the lobby is a nice touch. Perfect for a short city stay in Osaka!

A comfortable stay with a decent breakfast. The hotel is also pretty close to Shin-Osaka station and just next to Higashimikuni subway station which not only can take you to shinkansen, but also to Umeda, Dotonbori and Namba. So you just can't ask for more.

Close to Shin Osaka station. Plenty of food options are available. Great water pressure in the shower with continuous hot water. The room was quiet and the bed was big and comfortable, for a Japanese hotel. For the price, it was a good deal.

Hotel was within walking distance from the main Shinkansen station in Osaka, comfortable beds, and typical for Japanese business style hotels, lot's of complimentary things in case you don't have a toothbrush, comb etc

One of top 3 star hotels in Osaka and even the world. I visited over 56 countries, and even the 5 stars can’t compare to Imperial.
