A very very beautiful hotel with a million dollar view on the lake. Huge terraces with big stone vases and sunbeds. Very helpful and polite staff. The restaurant has a Michelin star, is one of the best I have ever visited and not expensive. Just 4 km from Lecco, they are building a new road for those who want to walk there on foot.

Didn't have the breakfast. The location was great, in a quiet area to get a goods night sleep but close to the Lake and the Wedding venue I needed to get to. It was easy to find and the host was very accommodating.

Staff was very friendly, especially in the restaurant. Breakfasts were tasty. The hotel is within a short walking distance to the lake and to the train station. Good location for a car trip.

Valmadrera is located on the east side of Lake Como.
Valmadrera is located on the east side of Lake Como. This means that it has sun in the morning and doesn't feature long sunny and warm evenings. If you are into the latter, better stay in Lecco because it is on the sunny west side of the lake.
The view from Barè over to the mountains and to Lecco however is grand and reminds of 18th century romantic paintings.
There is a vast amount of hiking paths right in the backyard of Valmadrerera. Since we were there for just one night, we treated ourselves to the hike no. 6 to the little chapel that is half way up the mountain and features breathtaking , similar two the ones in Barè but just from higher up. It's a splendid 80 minutes workout in easy but nevertheless spectacular terrain.
We were there in mid February and experienced the first signs of spring. The place is most likely to be splendid all year round, due to the spectacular landscape, the beautiful architecture and the abundance of seemingly pristine nature.
It's an ideal place to go for a romantic couple's holiday, or for a hiking holiday. Of course it's ideal to combine these two options :-)

First of all I had chosen the wrong train station which was Como San Giovanni (from Milano Centrale) In fact if I had chosen Lecco station everything would be easier for me. I stayed for one night. Next time I plan to stay much longer, 5-7 days.
Please please arrange your car in advance before arriving. It is difficult to find a car and even if you do it costs you a fortune for vain. That is why I prefered public transportation and instead of going alone Valmadrera is a place to enjoy with friends and beloved ones. It was like hidden paradise.

We found the restaurant at the hotel Baia Di Pare to be excellent. Mainly serving pizzas and pasta but also a variety of seafood and meat dishes - all beautifully cooked and served on white linen. Every member of the restaurant staff was friendly and helpful. We throughly enjoyed our visits.
Another favourite was the ice cream shop a hundred yards from the hotel. Lots of lovely flavours and truly delicious.

A small town on the shores of Lake Como very handy for getting the ferry to Bellagio and with some very decent restaurants (one - the recently open 'Alteregocafe' - outstanding). It's a bit cheaper than some places, so a good alternative to the better known towns. Also very handy for Bergamo Airport (60 mins), though Milan is accessible too. (Avoid Monday mornings!)
The service provided by Lucca always keen to help.
The views on the lake and mountains, 2 bedrooms with good beds, water pressure in the shower was excellent, a public water fountain next to the appartment with fresh water, only 10 mn by car from Lecco centre, perfect location if you are kite surf lover. Good free parking 200mt in front of the appartment. Also possible to park on the street for free. Initial point of the route to Bellagio (which can be noisy on Sunday with all the motos going there)
Lovely and small Hotel close to Valmadrera and the Lake of Como.
The hosts are super friendly and kind to help you out with any issues you can imagine and giving advice in exploring the surroundings around the hotel and the lake.
Great breakfast and wonderful view.
We recommend for people who prefer the less crowded places around the lake itself. The view and the experience itself you won't forget quite soon!

Our hostess, Sabrina, was exceptional. She even drove us to the ferry boat dock in Valmadrera, which was greatly appreciated. She also arranged a taxi for our return to the airport in Milan. The apartment is beautiful, and very well stocked with everything we needed. There are excellent restaurants in walking distance. Sabrina provided a lot of written information about the property and the area. Very highly recommended.
Fantastic boutique hotel. Breakfast was served on the terrace with the incredible view of Lake Como, it was incredible. Our room seemed a little dated in the decor but it was still very beautiful. The beds are hard but as soon as we asked for a topper, it was immediately organised so this made the bed a bit softer. We loved the terrace, loved sitting out there and taking in the view. Thank you for a very memorable stay.
Good location for visiting Lake Como attractions. Good connections by bus to Lecco & Como. Bellagio area from Lecco too.

Our stay exceeded our expectations, we were warmly welcomed, enjoyed tasty breakfast, room was super clean and spacious. If we could not park a car in front of the hotel, there is a huge free parking lot just across the road. If we would travel to this area again, we have no doubt and will defo stay here again! Also we had a dinner at the restaurant and it was an incredible experience!

This property is on the 1st floor of a private home. Very comfortable home with plenty of room and lots of windows
everything worked great, it was almost too big for 1 person but i enjoyed being there.

We loved everything about this place - the spectacular view from the balcony, delicious breakfast, spotless clean rooms and of course super friendly staff who made us feel like at home. I couldn't imagine better stay around Lake Como :) We also went for a dinner to hotel's restaurant and it was so worth it. Will be happy to visit again in the future!
The girl who welcomed me was nice. The room was spacious and bed was quite comfy. The train station in Valmadrera is in front of the property. The train leaves to Lecco every hour and you need 30-40 min walk to get to Lecco by foot. There are pretty nice restaurants down by the lake. Mostly locals go there so it’s worth relaxing there :)
Family run hotel which is beautifully decorated, clean and cosy. The owner’s Mauro and his brother are both so helpful and friendly. Can’t say a bad word about them. The food in the hotel’s restaurant is delicious though a little pricey. Would definitely stay here again though would hire a car next time.
Hotel Bellavista - beautiful view, perfectly named! The view from the balcony and from the dining room overlooking the activities on Lake Como was like watching a living movie, stunning. Our hosts could not have been more accommodating or welcoming absolutely fantastic.
The staffs are amazing. Especially the lady with glasses who has a big smile and makes every guest so happy is the best. She made our trip to another level! The hotel is so clean and is in a beautiful location. I highly recommend this place!
The suite was so comfortable and the view was on the lake. As well the owner was always was around to communicate with the guests.

The B&B was very pleasant and we wish we had spent more time in Lecco. We had a very large room with a well outfitted kitchen. Our host was very friendly, welcoming and responsive. It was very clean.
