A great place to stop at for a few days if you're travelling round Abruzzo. The train ride from Rome was very easy, and we were able to visit Lago di Scanno and Scanno itself by bus. Sulmona itself has a fantastic historic town centre with lots of little streets to explore. We enjoyed some great food and the most memorable ice creams ... And of course, lots of confetti Pellini! We hope to come back again next year!

Very positive.
Very positive. Surprisingly large, pleasant old section of city with down-to-earth charm. Hardly any tourists - too bad because Sulmona has an excellent, first rate tourist office. Spectacular, snow-capped mountains. In the heart of little-visited Abruzzo where amazing medieval castles abound. Has a must-go to restaurant called Clemente. People friendly and welcoming. We went for family research and stayed for the pleasure of the town & region. Just be sure you don’t stay at the bed & breakfast place called Villa Del Poeta! :)

Sulmona is a smallish town with a medieval center.
Sulmona is a smallish town with a medieval center. It is a fantastic base from which to take day trips to any of 3 national parks, the Adriatic Sea, and museums galore. If you’re interested in getting off the beaten path but maintaining high-end comforts, Sulmona is ideal. Bonus: there are at least 2 restaurants in town that have earned Michelin nods and stars (Gino’s and Clemente).

Nice quaint Italian city on route through Abruzzi.
Nice quaint Italian city on route through Abruzzi. Piazza with aqueduct and views nice. Market day was fun. Mountain views with a gelato nice and can’t forget some sweet confetti. A few hours is enough on a drive through stop.
Our hosts were incredibly charming and personable. Breakfast was amazing - lots of homemade goodies, great coffee, huge variety, and some special touches of homemade Italian regional delicacies. It was an easy walk into the historic center of town, and our hosts helped make a restaurant reservation for us. It was great to have not only the bedroom but the bathroom and living room space (had a couch, the dining room table and a TV) available for our personal use.
Very nicely renovated apartment that was very comfortable for our stay in Sulmona. Free parking lot was a bonus with a steep walk uphill to the apartment. Good shower, great living room and kitchen with most things you would need. The washing machine was a bonus and the balcony got enough sun to dry the washing. A really great location right in the old town. Don't miss the Wednesday and Saturday markets for your fresh produce.
We had a wonderful experience staying at the Legacy BnB. It is steps away from downtown Sulmona, and my family of 8 was able to book 3 rooms so we could all stay close together but have our own bedrooms. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but the highlight was the staff. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and to assist us when we needed help. I highly recommend staying at the Legacy!
Linda was a friendly host and very energetic for an older woman and also very helpful with our local regional travel. The place was very clean and good value for money. Taxis were scarce so Linda drove us to the train as we left. Sulmona is a quaint old place with narrow streets but the locals were out in force at the cafes and bars. The scenic drive to Cansano on a narrow winding road was another highlight..
This beautifully designed, comfortable apartment had everything we needed for our stay in Sulmona. The location to the historic centre was excellent and the views from the dining room and outside patio were stunning. The lift direct into our apartment made it easy for us. The host was friendly and helpful and available to help with any questions.
The hosts Vito and Monica were wonderful. The house is delightful, superbly equipped and very well designed. Bed really comfortable - heating excellent and great outdoor space. Very secure home. Hosts went out of their way to be helpful - thank you so much. The house is perfectly situated on a quiet road just outside Sulmona.
Lovely little Grancia near the Porta Napoli, full of character and maintained traditional decor. I stayed in a room with a balcony looking out into the street, enjoying the sounds of Sulmona life. Breakfast was exceptional, prepared and served with care and attention to detail.
Perfect location for trips to nature and national parks around. quiet place. Very spacious and clean apartment. Sulmona is a very quiet, clean and pretty town. In the city are supermarkets Conad and Lidl, you can buy groceries very well. Own parking place by accommodation.
The location was super, in the city historic centre of Sulmona with a fabulous view over the city, the whole house was remodeled, the breakfast was everything you desired since the super host Marta asks you the day before. Nothing could have been better, Super stay!
The apartment was wonderful, right in the center of Sulmona. Very comfortable for our family of 5. Incredible views of the mountains from some of the front bedrooms. The staff were extremely pleasant and communicative. Would highly recommend!
We Loved absolutely everything.
The Appartment is simply beautiful in its original condition.
The Host Tina was gorgeous and so helpful. The apartment was spotless and in the heart of Sulmona.
I’m just sad we only stayed one night!
Loved the location, very close to the historic centre of Sulmona, but easy to drive in and out of.
Lots of special little details like different coloured accessories for each room.
Lovely breakfast provisions provided each morning.
Lovely, well-kept studio apartment a short (2 min) walk from Piazza Garibaldi and Corso Ovidio, Sulmona's main street. Clean, with helpful, available host, Michele. Quiet and cool.
The space is beautiful, the location is perfect and breakfast on the rooftop terrace was delicious! Marta who runs the in is so kind and helpful. Don’t hesitate to book here.
