The hotel is amazing. We were lucky to park our car nearby the hotel. The host Jeanluke was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated in the heart of the old town close to many restaurants. The hotel was high class in everything including very rich breakfast.
We sure will be back again.

Very comfortable and clean home and friendly host. It is in a quiet and green spot and there is a 1-minute drive on a private road to reach the road to Sulmona, which is 5-10 minutes away. Therefore it is a convenient spot to explore the whole area. The kitchen is very well equipped. The beds are comfortable, but note mattresses are pretty firm, not soft.

Sulmona is a great town for those seeking an authentic Italian experience away from the normal tourist locations. It has everything you would want or need. It has got a train station , 2km away from the centre, and various bus routes to outlying villages and towns. The public transport timings are designed around the needs of the local people so , if you’re using trains or busses be aware that a lot of things close at 12 and don’t open up again until 5pm. You can eat between 12 and 3pm. For ease ,and to ensure you get to see as much of Abruzzo, I would recommend hiring a car to ensure you have flexibility. The tourist information office , near the museum, was a brilliant resource and the staff were always helpful. You can buy bus tickets for the tourist information and Trainline app was great for train timings and tickets.

A small town that is big enough to have a range of facilities but small enough to feel like an Italian village. Enough tourists to make the town more viable, but it's still not primarily a tourist town. There are tourists but not that many.

A great place to stop at for a few days if you're travelling round Abruzzo. The train ride from Rome was very easy, and we were able to visit Lago di Scanno and Scanno itself by bus. Sulmona itself has a fantastic historic town centre with lots of little streets to explore. We enjoyed some great food and the most memorable ice creams ... And of course, lots of confetti Pellini! We hope to come back again next year!

Very positive.
Very positive. Surprisingly large, pleasant old section of city with down-to-earth charm. Hardly any tourists - too bad because Sulmona has an excellent, first rate tourist office. Spectacular, snow-capped mountains. In the heart of little-visited Abruzzo where amazing medieval castles abound. Has a must-go to restaurant called Clemente. People friendly and welcoming. We went for family research and stayed for the pleasure of the town & region. Just be sure you don’t stay at the bed & breakfast place called Villa Del Poeta! :)

Sulmona is a smallish town with a medieval center.
Sulmona is a smallish town with a medieval center. It is a fantastic base from which to take day trips to any of 3 national parks, the Adriatic Sea, and museums galore. If you’re interested in getting off the beaten path but maintaining high-end comforts, Sulmona is ideal. Bonus: there are at least 2 restaurants in town that have earned Michelin nods and stars (Gino’s and Clemente).

The whole experience was fantastic. A generous host who picked us up from the station and gave us a tour round Sulmona. Excellent recommendations for eating out and friendly staff serving us breakfast on the roof terrace. Accommodation couldn't be faulted and I would recommend it unreservedly.
Wonderful decorated cosy guest house, near the citycenter of wonderfull Sulmona. Very well equiped. Melina and Alessandro a great hosts and very involved with the city and share that with their guest. Parkingspot in front of guesthouse.
it's right at the centre of Sulmona next to Porta Napoli. The room is super big and comfortable as well, not to mention the host is great explaining everything in details.
