Room was really nice and well-located between center of the town and the beach. Only drawback is that the street was quite busy and noisy. The bed was ok but not great. Personnel was only available if needed, but flexible. I appreciated it very much that I could use a bike without extra cost.

Ms Vera and her family are true hosts. They welcomed us when we were early for check-in and extended our day on check-out (as there was availablility). The breakfast was amazing, nearly all homemade produce. They are also conversant on many topics so discussions were easy and enjoyable. The location is perfect both for the beach and for the village core. The rooms are comfortable with AC which was a godsent in a heatwave. The common areas are charming. We highly recommend.

Vera made our stay! A truly wonderful host that is available to support your every need...The house itself is incredible value for money and perfect for a stay in Avola. Great air conditioning, spacious accommodation and close to lots of restaurants. We would recommend 👌
We've been to Avola multiple times in the last few years.
We've been to Avola multiple times in the last few years. It's a nice quaint town with friendly people and easy to reach beaches.
Has a couple of squares with nice restaurants, beautiful old buildings and ice cream / pastry shops and lovely atmosphere (music, people dancing) in the evening.
Unfortunately in the recent visits we found the town a bit ran down and except for the center and a few touristy spots a bit dirty (lots of trash on the street, from construction sites, food leftovers, ...).
Hopefully it'll improve now that tourism is back to full capacity.

Cute city with availability of most important services, shops. Good start to make tours around Sicily. Trash is disturbing like in the whole island.
La Piramide bar - very kind service
Caffe Clara in the center
It’s worth renting a car.
Close to Siracusa (don’t miss it), Noto - beauty pearl, Taormina…

Avola is a pleasant town.
Avola is a pleasant town. There is plenty to see near by that can be reached by bus or car, Syracuse and Noto being the highlights.
We hired a small boat from the harbour with a skipper and had the most a fabulous day out!

Avola is a nice town near the sea: famous for its almonds, honey and wine, it has some baroque feeling to it, though not as much as Scicli for instance. It is a near-perfect base to visit Syracusae, the beaches of Noto or the town of Modica: all within reach from 20 minutes to 1 hour, but it can also be a relaxing place in itself. A recommendation would be to visit "Bar Pasticceria Mangiafico" in town, that since 1972 delivers quality in pastries and sicilian street food!
On the side of warnings, it needs to be said that the old town has very narrow roads, and getting around by car requires some driving skills.

In future I would stay in Noto or another city in Sicily
Avola seems like a ghost town in peak summer times
No good restaurants, no bars and nothing seems to be happening.
All the shops seemed closed once you got off the beach. Luckily I had a car so I could drive to neighbouring cities
We had a wonderful 3 night stay at Pantanello Rooms. The room was modern and spacious with a great sea view. The hydrotherapy shower was wonderful as well! Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice. There's a lovely sandy beach opposite, with a brilliant beach bar serving coffees, cocktails and lunches. There was also a lifeguard on duty.
Avola was a pleasant location. Not too touristy but enough bars and restaurants to offer some choice. Restaurants are 10 minutes' walk in either direction along the sea front.
The hosts are really friendly - but unfortunately speak only Italian - the host lady brought us some sweets but not only almost every day - but I am not sure that it was included in the deal
Was a very quiet place, and the yard was really beautiful - but you need a car to reach the nearest beach or grocery or restaurant
The apartment is a bit outdated and requires some redesign IMHO - but everything was working
There is a great beach and sea In the Avola - really recommended
Nice, modern and clean room in a small B&B in the very center of Avola, hence a super convenient location to move both in town and in the surrounding region. Hosts were very nice and friendly, breakfast was great and tailor made (they asked us specifically what we preferred and prepared us exactly this). We will definitely be back if we are in the area.
Valerio is great host! He was very helpful explaining us about everything what to see in Avola and surrounding! We had great stay with my family and at the end we requested to check out later that 10:00 and it was approved by him! I strongly recommendate this place for families!
