The view from the room was fantastic…except we didn’t see it because we arrived at 8pm and left for MXP in the early hours of the morning. It was a last minute decision to stay here but we wished we had stayed longer. The staff and owner were fantastic and friendly and the room was wonderful. Ample parking. Fast wi-fi. Will definitely return but stay longer next time.

The location is beautiful and that’s where the good stuff stops, unfortunately. Everything else was disastrous.

I loved the remote location. Very scenic. You need a car to get here as ot is off the beaten track but we'll worth the visit and exceptional value for money. We were there in mid September and availed of the out door pool and although it was cold it was very refreshing and a great way to get sorted after a late night. Ellie and her compatriots ate very accomodatating and the food in the restaurant is excellent.
Hotel L'Approdo offers a private beach and beautiful views of Lake Orta, and is just a few minutes' drive from Orta San Giulio and the A26 Motorway. Parking and Wi-Fi are free.

Stunning location overlooking the lake and mountain, our room was clean and spacious, the bed was comfortable.
The hotel is definitely quite dated but kept quite clean so I didn’t find it to be too much of an issue. Personnel were very friendly and helpful!
We didn’t use the swimming pool or any facilities so no comments on that.

We only had one nights stay at the hotel as a stopover coming from france travelling down through Italy, however it was exactly what we expected and more. A really lovely location with a great aspect, Monte Bianco was viewable from our room balcony. it was very clean and the staff were helpful. the food was nice, however i would of liked to seen an itemised bill for our food, when we checked out. On retrospect i'm not sure if i was overcharged slightly for our dinner. If that was the case its partly my fault for not enquiring further. Having said this we would definitely return if we took this route again. Peaceful and enjoyable stay with clean nice rooms.

Very good welcome from the two brothers who run the Battle of Britain hotel. We had lunch and it was served in a large dining room overlooking lake Orta and the beautiful gardens downstairs. The view is stunning.
Lunch was very pleasant. Good beef carpaccio served with plenty of parmigiano and small salads on side. I discovered a new Italian dessert called Bonet, a speciality from Turin.
Efficient and friendly staff 👏👏

Luca and Melissa are super friendly and accomodating.
Villa Le Vignole is located in a superb setting. The view of the Lake of Orta is magnificent.
Nice and friendly dining paces are very close to the property.
If you love Art do not miss the Fondazione Antonio and Carmela Calderara a few hundred meters from Villa Le Vignole. It's a place full of incredible art pieces.
We already decided that next trip to Italy must include Luca's place!!

Ameno village is an interesting village with narrow streets...
Ameno village is an interesting village with narrow streets and typical housing. People are welcoming you.
About the Giacomone Pecorino site, the environmental scenery along with the house owner, a kind of charming and educated Robinson Crusoe, were a comforting and unusual experience
The peacefulness of the village of Ameno is one of a kind, and as soon as I arrived at the hostel, I felt bewitched by the italian little pueblo atmosphere. I originally had planned to go to Milan, and as soon as found this hostel and entered the village I was sure not to go! I got welcome by kindness and joy, in a very cosy hostel which the person in charge offered me the keys for as I was the only guest that night! Pure luxury, with coffee and croissants in the morning! Thank you for this!
Rural B&B on a honeyfarm in a quiet village above Lake Orta. Free parking near the property. Sufficient breakfast with mostly local products (including their own honey). Owner can sent you to the hotel-restaurant at the other end of the village for dinner. Next day she gave me a walking map with which you can walk through some local villages to Orta (and the island in the lake). Really good place to unwind.
The area around Lago 'dOrta is beautifully green and the lake is clear. The hostel itself and the village of Ameno surrounding it could not be more Italian if Coppola directed the whole set. Nice other guests, quiet surrounding and a small jazz concert in the local park made the stay enjoyable. But the best were Giuditta and her daughters who were friendly and very helpful, thank you.
We needed a place to stop for one night, and this place did the trick. It's a bit outside of Orta's main village, so it's quieter than staying in town (which is quite touristic and busy). The bed was large, the air-conditioning worked well, and the blackout shutters were also fantastic. Note: you will need a car to reach the hotel.
We were in Italy during a heat wave. This hotel was the first one that had not one but 2 ac units in the room that worked. The staff was great and very accommodating.
We arrived very late and they stayed to let us check in. When we left they arranged for us to have an early breakfast. Our room had a terrace with view.
The hotel is located on a hill with a great view of the Mountains. It is quiet and very peaceful. Rooms are basic but clean and spacious. The restaurant is very good and not expensive. Overall this was a very pleasant stay, and we will be looking forward to visiting again.
Hostel highly exceeded my expectations! I loved the position in the centre of Ameno. Next morning I woke up and had breakfast at balcony with the view to the valley. The owner was very nice and I would love to stay in this hostel anytime!
Family hotel, friendly staff, easy parking, great view over lago Orta, quiet nights, beautiful nearby villages, good value enjoyable hotel meals,
My third stay, and we wiould love to stay again, grazie Senòr.
The owners and staff were extremely helpful. The views were incredible and the food was exceptional and very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend Hotel Battle of Britain
