The amazing location of Hotel Skaftafell provides guests with stunning views of Iceland's highest mountain, Hvannadalshnjukur and the largest glacier in Europe, Vatnajökull.

We have a private shower and toilet in our room. They have northern light call service, and we saw the aurora!

The guesthouse is located in Hof which is a tiny village of maybe 8 or 10 houses. Beautiful surrounding with a little church, very picturesque. It is very quiet. The room and the very modern shared bathroom was very clean. There is a small shared space where 3 or 4 people can sit and have a coffee/tea or heat something in the microwave. There is also a shared fridge.
Set next to Hof turf church, this hotel offers an on-site restaurant and free WiFi. Skaftafell National Park is 15 minutes' drive away from the hotel. Cape of Ingolfshöfdi is 3 km away.

We liked the location very much, it had a great view. The staff at the reception was portuguese like us and was really helpful and friendly and gaves us some great tips! The breakfast was good and had good variety. The room was good. Overall it was a great stay.
The Potato Storage is offering accommodation in Svínafell, with free WiFi and free private parking. All guest rooms in the motel are fitted with a kettle.

The stay at Potato Storage was the most comfortable and pleasant stay in Iceland. The host was so understanding and humble. We had a nice chat with them. We had some reservations and required for late checkout so the host also agreed to it. Very clean property with all essentials.

stunning, make sure you walk all the way down the trail, there are two other gorgeous waterfalls that a lot of people missed by not going all the way to end end of the trail (which is only a few hundred meters long).

This is an amazing place to hike and see some glorious views - especially on a clear day - which can be a bit tricky. We were extremely fortunate to have some of the the sunniest days recorded. Could not ask for a more comfortable hike. There are glacier hikes that you can pay for but honestly parking at the Park and hiking up yourself is something you will not soon forget. Not too laborious, but you defintely feel like you are exercising. Loved every minute of this hike and I wish I could have stayed longer.

Sadly we only had a day in Skaftafell and I wish we had more time to explore the national park. What we did see was stunning. Nature, hikes, glaciers and ocean all within a stones throw of each other. Well worth a longer visit than just to pass through.
A very well run Hotel with friendly staff and everything you could need. We were looking up to the snow capped mountains from our room which was generous in size and good facilities. Breakfast was varied and had some Icelandic dishes which i loved! Didn't eat an evening meal in the Hotel but the DIner over the road which again was very good with a more simpler menu but the food was filling. Gas pumps only took UK Credit card not debit so make sure you've got one spare! I would recommend this hotel.
The room was cosy and warm. The food at the restaurant really exceeded my expectations, I have eaten in many restaurants across the world and this truly was one of the most delicious meals I have ever tasted. There is a lovely walk behind the hotel overlooking a glacier. We also saw the northern lights 15 minutes away in a picnic parking area.
Staff were all lovely. Hotel is functional, rooms are adequate. Most importantly the showers work! Of course, this is an amazing location for Skaftafell-area adventures, only a 5-minute drive from the visitor centre parking.
Restaurant was very high-quality and surprisingly affordable, by Iceland standards.
The place is really nice. The staff is welcoming, the size of the room good and the beds were really comfy. It was clean and quiet. There is nearly no light outside exept the hotel so we could watch the stars ans sky lights easily ! Thank you very much !
