We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location was excellent, and the hotel itself was lovely. The highlight for me was the fantastic swimming pool, perfect for unwinding and soaking up the sun. Additionally, the room was clean and comfortable, ensuring a pleasant stay overall. Really liked the location, close to the cliff and walkable to all nearby cafes and restaurants. Extreme value for your money as well. The rooms are clean, they do provide free breakfast and there are two cute dogs that were a bonus. Faizal was also able to provide us with bikes and a lot of suggestions as well

Everything was fantastic, first the warm welcome from the cheta and chechi , the place was wonderful and had a well planned compact rooms.
The food was nice and the rooms were good comparing other places we stayed in our 3 day trip
Near to odayam beach, the place was calm and relaxing without much people crowing the area.
Rented a bike(500) with them and was using the bike more than the time limit they said and they were not to strict about the timings and was flexible
They were ready to guide us with all the resources from booking an auto to providing helmets and suggesting superb food places to explore.
Can't expect a view as we wanted to explore varkala and not the view ( personal choice ).
Would highly suggest this room to newly wed couples and families.

I stayed in Varkala for 3 nights. This was mainly due to train timings. 2 nights would’ve been enough. I did a yoga class and auryvedic massage on the last day this would have been better in the second day.
What I did find slightly confusing was the references to North & South Cliff whereas I think South Cliff was an extension of the cliff walk - starting with North cliff.
Plenty of choice for food although a particular favourite was Sun Francisco - the Veg Tali was delicious and good value for money.

Varkala beach is busy very busy on weekends with lots of Indian tourists. The cliff side walk has lots of restaurants and shops. We found the beach a bit rough with the waves but beyond the waves it was calm . The stairs to the beach can be challenging if you have knee issues . It’s has a good atmosphere but we prefer less touristy places hence staying at Odayam each area .

Touristic place. So lots of restaurants with a large variety of meals, bars, shops, ressorts, loud music, massage.
Best restaurant is Clafouti for me.
Nice beaches, big temple.
This is a tourist destination. India' s soul not there. Crowdy, noisy, pushy salesmen, beggers, stray dogs.
Pretty dirty environment cause of littering.
2 to 3 days stay is enough.

Beautiful views from the cliffs, plenty of beaches, option to learn surfing (!), good food, and the most gorgeous mangrove/backwaters (30 mins away).... that's Varakala in nutshell. Lovely cliffside walks with breaks for some ice cream at Scoopy or a whole Israeli breakfast(yummmm) at Buddha Bar. We loved ABBA for all other hunger pangs. Having a rented scooter to go around the places away from the cliffs helps, but there were plenty of Autos as well.

Its took travel time is too far, Kerala roads are not good. Many people not follow traffic rules. Really upset to road travel to Kerala. Many sign boards are shown only in Malayalam Language, we struggled with read.
Except that places are really good and peoples also very friendly.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The location is fantastic, just a few seconds walk to the main shops and restaurants along the cliff.
Everyone was so helpful at the hotel, from booking taxis and massages for us. They also had good recommendations and were eager to help.
Suresh and Rejin were both so helpful. We really enjoyed the cooking course we did here and would highly recommend it.
The room was spacious and comfortable. The air con in our room worked excellently. Would very happily come back to stay here again.
The cottages are located at a quiet and peaceful part of Odyam beach. safi and the staff at the cottages are doing a great job, they are very friendly and helped with anything that we needed. The breakfast is exceptional and offers both Indian dishes and continental. Varkala cliff is about 15 to 20 minute walk. If you are looking to relax in beautiful surroundings, this is the place to go. We can recommend staying here without any hesitation and would stay at paddy farm again if we come back to Varkala.
Friendly and personable staff helped us with questions, advice and arranging transport. The location is a good choice in the Varkala area, as it is more relaxed and less touristic than north cliff. Odayam beach is also nicer for swimming. Breakfast was more western style but delicious, generous and fresh with lots of choices including fruit and fresh juices. Our room was simple and cool with a nice day need to lounge on the porch.
Right on the beach, the views from the resort were breathtaking! It was so peaceful and relaxing. The family and staff managing the place were very courteous and helpful. They even provided us with a scooter to explore Varkala and helped arranging a cab back to the airport. The sunset views were the best from here..even better than what we saw in the varkala cliff/market areas!

Excellent location, close to the varkala cliff beach, lots of restaurants. Awesome weather, clean beaches.
The location of the resort is just excellent, tucked away from the artificial humdrum of the centre and cliff of Verkala (only 25 mins walk along the beach though). You have a whole beach to yourself as very few tourists are around, in addition to that you can observe the daily chores of fishermen everyday morning. It just felt like paradise.
The location of the property is amazing. Beach is 100m walk. The beach is clean and the cliff is very close. Staff is very polite and helpful. Abhijeet helped us to rent scooty as well as he arranged booking for kayaking. Place is very quite all you can hear is the ocean. If I ever visit varkala again I will stay at Madathil only.
The cause behind this is so noble. Additionally the facility for stay was awesome. Personally I feel, Hari, Ram and Ma'am were very kind. They are probably the best find in varkala for me. Do check them out for stay at north cliff and share your efforts to their noble cause.
Wanted to love this place as been staying in basic and eco - friendly places back packing across India. Location right by small beach and sea path great, albeit 30 minutes walk to north cliff, 50 to south. Very nice manager sujesh and good baked bread . Water refills.
The property is located very close to the beach. In fact, you can see the beach from some of the rooms. The room we occupied was large and spacious. The property has several activities and games in the common area. Varkala Cliff is at walking distance from the stay.

Had a wonderful stay at Palan resort. The staff was extremely cordial and helpful, especially Akshat. The resort is within walking distance of most of the cafes on North cliff. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay in Varkala
It’s a chill and budget hostel very close to the Varkala cliff and beach. The Wi-Fi is good. the staff members were helpful. The vibe was very relaxed. The balcony and the common areas were pleasant to spend time in. The room had all the basic necessities.
This was our third visit to the Gateway Varkala. It’s a lovely hotel, clean,comfortable and friendly, approachable staff- excellent breakfast. Varkala beach/cliff is stunning and just round the corner. We’ll be back again!
The homestay was neat and clean. The host Sudheer was very humble and helpful. The location was just 200-300 metres from the Varkala cliff. Best budget hotel, both comfort and location wise. Would highly recommend it.
