Madri haveli made for authentic Udaipur experience, heritage living, walking distance to city palace and temples, great food on its roof top overlooking Pichola lake and medieval city scape, with all around Rajasthani hospitality from its staff, Sunil, Pushpendra at front desk and Toofan from kitchen. What should strike most is when you learn from their Farewell card towards end of stay that 95% of its profits go towards preserving city heritage and culture, courtesy its French owner. We could only wish good things for everything around us..
Little Peepal House is very conveniently located near by Jagdish Temple and very close to Jagore Ki Havelli. Parvat was an excellent host and went above and beyond to help me get tickets for the Rajasthani Folk Dance show and Jagore Ki Havelli and took me to TigerLake and Ahar Cenotaphs - worth the trip. I loved Udaipur, and Parvat made it all the more memorable. HUGE THANKS TO YOU!!!
Note that the hotel is very tall and steep so you will have to climb stairs. The rooftop view is excellent! We watched fireworks from here on NYE!
It’s a hidden gem inside Udaipur‘s old city! All sightseeing, cafés, bars and restaurant are within a few minutes walking distance. But what makes this hotel outstanding is its staff and its love to keep the traditional spirit alive - in every small corner of the hotel.
We enjoyed very much Akshays hospitality, the breakfast and the city palace view from the terrace.

This property is located near / as part of the city palace complex, so location is awesome. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. We got upgraded to a suite which was excellent and had a great view of Lake Palace. They have good carts outside the hotel to take you to the main gate of the old town or city palace. Overall the stay was fabulous! They have heritage walk in the hotel at 5 pm, which we really wanted to join but didn’t have the time too. And did I mention the view from the hotel and our room - incredible!!
I recently stayed at Hotel Madiram Palace in Udaipur and overall, it was a decent experience. Although the restaurant was not operational during my stay, the staff was helpful in providing recommendations for other dining options nearby. The hotel also offered a common drinking water dispenser in the lobby for guests' convenience. Despite these minor setbacks, the peaceful and calm atmosphere of the hotel made for a relaxing stay. I would recommend this hotel for those seeking a decent and tranquil stay in Udaipur.
This was a real find - the old haveli that houses the hotel is an architectural gem, full of atmosphere and relatively comfortable. The staff were friendly and super helpful, even helping me carry my luggage down the street to where I could catch a taxi. The onsite restaurant is fine, and the art store in the building has lots of beautiful things for very fair, hassle free prices. The location is perfect, too - it's steps from the lake at Gangaur Ghat and an easy walk to many of Udaipur's attractions.
Have been to udaipur couple of times, but this time staying in this Beautiful French Colonial Architecture Hotel "Shahpura Barliyas House", was an amazing stay. I had an amazing suite equipped with all Modern Techniques and Facilities. The Suite are luxurious and very well designed. The Hotel has a Terrace Dining from where u can see the City Palace and Lake Pichola. I wish the Shahpura Team best of luck and Thanks for giving a memorable stay. Will Definitely visit again.
We stayed for four nights in the hotel. Our room was spacious, clean, and air conditioned, with a stunning view across the lake up to the city palace. It is a 10 minute walk to the centre of Udaipur old town. We were brilliantly looked after by Shankar and Mat. The rooftop restaurant is affordable and serves both tasty veg and non-veg options which were fine for our soft western stomachs!!! Would highly recommend for anyone looking for top value for money in Udaipur.
