Millbrook House, hotel in Oldcastle

Millbrook House, a property with a garden, is located in Oldcastle, 23 km from Kells Heritage Centre, 28 km from Hill of Ward, as well as 34 km from Mullingar Arts Centre.

The house was perfect. We were a family group of ten and the house was more than spacious for us. The place was spotless and the outside area was lovely. The kids loved exploring around the garden and there were loads of games inside the house to keep them busy in the evening. The hosts Claire and William went above and beyond to ensure everything was ok. Oldcastle town itself is very close and there is a lovely walk up to an old megalithic site. I would definitely recommend!!

St Kyrans Guest House, hotel in Oldcastle

Situated in Virginia, 16 km from Loughcrew Historical Gardens & Visitor Centre, St Kyrans Guest House features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace.

Helena is the perfect host, we have stayed at St Kyrans before now, and our stay was absolutely wonderful. Our room was stunning, so warm and inviting, the toiletries were beautiful and such good quality. The breakfast with home made wheaten bread and berries for example was absolutely delicious and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his full irish with perfectly poached eggs. A home away from home with additional luxuries, we love it and will go back at Christmas time.

We were just staying to visit my husband’s family who live nearby. Not much happening in Oldcastle at the time of year we were visiting, but the weather was good and we had a lovely walk up to Lough Crew which is just a few minutes away by car and the view from up there is spectacular on a fine day.

Patrick was very friendly and helpful. The house was very clean and comfortable. There is lots to see in the area. We had a really enjoyable holiday and would highly recommend it. Every bedroom has en-suite facilities. It is nice and quiet and tucked away in lovely countryside but close enough to Oldcastle's facilities.

It was really homely, relaxing, warm and private. Beautiful views of Loughcrew, sunrises and landscape. I was cycling and it was very close to Oldcastle for shopping, but far enough out to enjoy country cycling.
