Ashbrook Arms Townhouse and Restaurant, hotel in Abbeyleix

Offering a restaurant, Ashbrook Arms Townhouse and Restaurant is situated in the small town of Durrow.

Lovely stay, we were upgraded to a larger room at no extra cost as it was a quiet time of year! Very kind of them to do this. Beautiful grounds with many lovely walks nearby. Unfortunately we came early in the week and the hotel restaurant was closed until the weekend so unable to comment on the food. But a very clean comfortable stay in a wonderful little town! Be sure to stop by Bowes for lunch and Bob’s for a pint. Fifty Seven is also a lovely local shop with some elegant women’s fashion! And Durrow Castle was just across the way, it was free to roam around the garden and explore the grounds. You will not regret a visit to Durrow!

Lovely heritage town, well kept with some nice eateries and pubs. Some nice walks to be had. Our stay wasn’t long enough to see everything so we will be back again. We had excellent coffee and scones in the Gallic Kitchen. Next time we look forward to sampling lunches

The rooms are clean, beautiful, comfortable and well designed. The owners of Blackhill Woods are super welcoming and you feel right at home immediately! The gardens are the perfect place to sit and read a book, and the local town of Abbeyleix is only a 5 minute drive away. Breakfast is served to your room, with fresh fruit and gorgeous bread and yoghurt. I would highly recommend Blackhill to anyone.

The staff at the front desk were wonderful. We had a hiccup with the B & B that we had booked, and booked the last 2 rooms at your hotel, and were tired and frustrated when we arrived. The front desk agent (sorry cannot remember her name) was helpful, and when we came back down to ask for fans, she went looking for them herself, and delivered them to our rooms.

It's quite the experience! The old building, which use to be a school if I remember the hosts decscription correctly, has big old-style rooma and windows, a wonderful communal kitchen with everything you need for breakfast and more (even though it's more like a hotel) and beautiful dramatic dinner / tea rooms where you get to meet the other guests.

It was a very comfortable hotel. The staff were very good, especially Sheila at breakfast. She went out of her way to make sure our requests were met. Sheila herself would be a reason I would return to Abbeyleix Manor Hotel.

The hotel was useful as it was near our family. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The ongoing renovations were kind of a put off (painting in front entry) but the stay was suitable.
