Staff were very nice & helpfull. Receptionist on Sun night was lovely and girl this am was nice too. Met a young guy who works there and he was very friendly. We had a chat about what work they were doing at the hotel. The evening restaurant staff were very busy so had to ask 3 times for a side order but they were also very nice as was the girl serving breakfast she was flying it on her own.
Shower room was lovely & modern .
Free parking at back .

Coolcower House has the look and feel of a country mansion and is beautifully located in extensive grounds accessed by a long drive and overlooks the river. Wood panelled hallways, imposing stairwells and comfortable public rooms (including a lovely bar area). Although looking a little tired in places, it is a wonderfull place to stay.

Just stayed on the hotel for one night - hotel was clean and comfortable, staff were really pleasant and breakfast was good. Bar Food was finished by 8.15pm which was a minor disappointment as we were late arrivals (arrived before 8.30pm)...but overall no issues with the accommodation.

Excellent gateway to west Cork and a destination in its own right by the Castle remnants of the MacCarthy Muskerry Lords of Gaelic Ireland, and along the Banks of the Sulán River. Perfect for visiting peaceful, stunning Gougane Barra, Máigh Cromtha, land of the Caoineadh Art O Laoghaire has it going on, nice cafe by Castle market gates too, also the nearby Ghaorthaidh , the only alluvial "drowned" forest in Europe , Paddy Hodnett the whiskey coinneuseur worth a shout into if travelling onto Inchydoney and the Clonakilty Distillery

As for pubs we went to goldens both nights as recommended by our taxi driver John Casey. Fantastic pub, friendly and fasinating decor. Friendly staff and locals.
We stayed at the loft, a little beautiful b&b, but a little far out of macroom so we used a great local Taxi, we used was Casey's taxis, reluable and very friendly.

Only went in to Macroom to eat, had dinner in the Castle Hotel and it was great. It was recommended by one of the staff where we were staying, outside Macroom, and it was well signposted once we got into Macroom. The car park in the Castle Hotel was a little tight though.
